Probably a move to kind of re-energize the team and fan base. It gets people talking, generates a little buzz. Maybe Gagne pots a few and helps the team on the ice, too. |

I have no way of predicting what that 4th round pick was going to become. I guess my point of view is one of, this is a season for growth. And to bring in gagne and knuble takes away from seeing what th kids can do.
Maybe I don't see this season as one were the flyers are in a realistic position to win the cup so I see the 4th round pick as more value then a washed up forward. - ggunky
I hear exactly what your saying. |

I'm going to the game tomorrow and I'd be lying if I didn't say I was legitimately excited to see Gagne skate tomorrow night.
Outside of that.....I'm not expecting much. - johndewar
if he has to wear #45 you won't recognize him |

Not upset over the deal. Just doesn't make sense to me at all. Giving up a pick for a player who is cooked. This team has too many needs and is going nowhere so why trade picks away? I just dont understand it. - stveshdy
Well, Holmgren clearly thinks they can still make the playoffs with some help. And bring in playoff bucks. Why are you so certain he's "cooked"? |

Can't be much worse than the Knuble-Briere-Fedotenko line - Jsaquella
I can't believe that line was aloud to play in an actual game. |

It's gotta be exciting for Gags too, to put the orange and black back on. Hopefully this provides a boost. |

I'm hoping he pulls up in a DeLorean and plays like he did when he was 26.
But at the same time, it's an inconsequential move. He hasn't played much, but he has 5 assists in 11 games. - Jsaquella
Yep.
That's why we re-acquired Wendel.
Twice.
His second tour of duty was only horrible.
His third time was not the charm - it was actually painful to watch.
And don't get me started on Dougie... |

Briere gonzo now? hmmm - Marc D
He's got an autograph appearance tonight at the Red, Hot, & Blue on Route 70.
Someone (not me) should ask him. |

Dont see how anyone can be that bummed about this its a conditional 4th round pick something needed to happen...Yeah Gags isnt the same player but he will surely help if anything with leadership. The flyers didnt give up any player for him either...As for Fedatanko I wouldnt be at all shocked to see him traded within a week or two just a feeling. Doesnt seem like his heart is in Philly. |

I'm sure he's happy. Coming home, he's got his Cup, and now he gets a chance to play. I'm sure he's stoked. |

Gagne is good enough at this point? He has no future here. Team is going nowhere. Rather have the picks for this years upcoming draft. - stveshdy
Why does he have no future here? Maybe he signs on the cheap in the offseason and replaces Rusty as a third line winger. |

I don't think he's cooked. My concern is he's made of glass, coupled with the Flyers bad luck with injuries, and it's not likely he stays healthy. |

If he doesn't stay healthy than Wellwood and Harry Z get to play anyways. |
