My expectation is that he is a depth player, at best.
- Jsaquella

As long as Flyers fans don't get crazy expectations, there is nothing wrong with this move. Veteran presence, helps the kids, good in the room, blah blah blah.

Sadly, I see this move backfiring when he doesn't put up a point a game, and fans start wondering out loud just what the hell is wrong with him.

There's a few players I can think of that I would have loved to give up for gagne instead of a pick. It's reportedly a deep draft. Our farm system is the worst in the NHL. I want as many chances as possible to replenish. Why the eff do we have to give up a 4th for a scratched player and jersey can get ponikorovsky for a 7th?
- Just5

Ponikarovsky cost a 4th and a 7th.

Because he's nt that good anymore

This is what I'm worried about. I watch lots of Kings games but havent seen him play. I was wondering if he was hurt, or if he is just cooked/somewhere in between.

Gags is a family guy. He slowed Richie and Carter's roll at Venice Beach bars.

From my blog: Flyers asked Simon Gagné to fly as soon as possible to Philadelphia to make sure he'll be in the lineup Wednesday vs Caps.

If they're out of contention, I'm pretty sure they can get the 4th rounder back at the TDL. It's a move full of Meh!

That's my point. Gagne or no Gagne this team isn't going far.

Keep the picks and trade your players at the deadline.

Gagne probably still has a house here.

Someone's lease is about to get broken.

Oh, how did I forget Recchi in my Throwback Tuesday jokes. He did come for a 2nd tour of duty.

Probably because he got around like Byfuglien in a buffet line.

Scouting report on Simon Gagne: As healthy as he's been in long time, still miles on the tread but not suited to play Darryl Sutter hockey.

My heart loves that Gagne's back and has the chance to retire as a Flyer.

My head wonders if he's going to be able to stay healthy and be able to adapt to a bottom-six checking role.

Gagne/Couturier/Talbot does look good on paper as a shut-down line, though. Or sub Knuble in there if you really want to turn up the nostalgia.

I wouldn't say that. They have as many as 3 or 4 guys who can be a healthy scratch.
