Howard Eskin- don't think the Flyers are done trading after Gagne deal. - Winning
Eskin has some insider connections doesn't he? He is usually right on the nature of the upper/lower body injuries when he leaks them. Wonder if he got wind of something or is just yapping.

Eskin always makes sure he takes a stance on something that is 50/50.
Option 1: Flyers aren't done
Option 2: Flyers are done
If the Flyers make a trade, he's right and boy does it make him feel good about himself. Flyers don't make a trade and we don't hear anything from him. Eskin is a genius.
Yeah I don't think it's bad at all if he's healthy. LA wanted to dump salary, we clearly need some help, and we only are giving up a 4th as it stands. - Hextall271
I would trade them knuble if it meant them removing the conditional 3rd part
No, but at least they're making an informed judgement on him. I agree with you that the Flyers shouldn't be giving away draft picks for older players. Especially true if it becomes a 3rd in the Flyers make the playoffs. What would offset that is if the Flyers make a miraculous run and hoist the Cup. Then I won't care about the 3rd. All I'm saying is that I don't know that Gagne is washed up, and I don't know how you know that either. - MJL
Gagne hasn't been half the player he was. He's struggled to stay healthy. Has concussion issues. What makes us think he is going to change and become something he was?

So you like the trade or you don't like the trade?

eskin was right about the carter and richards trades

Who said or thinks that Gagne is going to again be the player he was in the past? Who has that expectation?

Eskin only talks Flyers if he knows something, as I've seen. Then again, I only ever hear him comment on injury updates.
What are your expectations? How do you determine if a player is washed up or on the downside? - stveshdy
He is most certainly on the downside. But that is not the same as washed up. I'm hoping Gagne can come in a provide solid veteran 2 way play. One of the latest topics of conversation was that the team was not getting any offense from the bottom 6. Now I don't know where Gagne is going to play. But if he is healthy, I think he can contribute in that area and provide some secondary offense. He can also play on the 2nd unit PP. Now I don't know what he does have left. But I'm not prepared to label him washed up until I see him play. That would be premature.

Thats fine. I think hes on the downside. Rather keep the pick and play younger players. This team IMO isnt a true contender. Adding Gagne does nothing for me at this point.

Isn't that what Fedotenko or Knuble is for? Has Gagne even played this season?

That is my expectation. I expect Gagne to play exactly the same way he did in the past. I think it's a lock. More specifically, he will play just as well for the Flyers as he did for the Kings last week.
