Ryder is very good. Habs aren't messing around this year. - hereticpride
Interesting why Dallas would do that from a Cap perspective.

Cole hasn't played well for Montreal this year. Very good deal for Montreal. Ryder is a very good player. Also 4 years younger than Cole. |

I'm negative when the situation warrants. Trading a 3rd or 4th round pick isn't a killer. I don't like moving first or second round picks for rentals. |

I think I recall reading something that Dallas has been trying to move him for a while now with no takers. Maybe this was the best worst offer? Not sure why Dallas wanted to move him in the first place tho. |

Ryder going to Montreal pisses off my friend who's a Bruins fanatic as well. Here is to hoping Ryder buries the Bruins with a big goal in the playoffs. |

Put it in a capsule and no, the trade is not a killer. When a franchise that hasnt won a cup in 37 years and is year in and year out dumping mid round picks for aging players that clearly can not put them over the top. This one will NOT put them over the top.
I get tired of it. It's constant. So when they keep doing this, I'm agitated |

Talking to Bruins fans we figure the Flyers with wait until the deadline and if they're out it'll be prospects and picks. |

Bill might be able to shed some light on the Dallas thought process here. But like you I don't get it from a Dallas prospective. |

Well, if the team drops out of the standings the next few weeks, Holmgren can recoup this pick and then some at the deadline. |

I agree. The only NHL ready D man we have in the system is the walking concussion, Mr Marc-Andre Bordoun. These mid round picks should be stocking up that miserable team. |
