CRAP!

The injury stuff borders on the comical. I'm expecting Gagne's flight to hit turbulence. He will hit his head and become concussed.

I'm hoping its a pre-emptive move to replace Briere. Only way the move makes any sense.
- hereticpride

I appreciate your pre-emptive optimism but for me this only makes sense if Holmgren flips Gagne for a 2nd at the deadline.

I'd settle for a good GM who can manage the cap and the team's assets, ie, picks and youth.

Nope Briere will get smashed next game and stop all trade talk as he can't be traded if he's hurt.

with McGinn that is really bad, even if he is back in two weeks he won't be able to fight. That takes away from part of his game. Anyone here know how long it really takes for that to heal? After this what is chance he's going to want to fight again?

It's not really a big part of his game even though he is a big boy, he's never had more than 55 pims in the minors. He's a young guy trying to make an impression so he was gonna want to impress and make his mark.

not that that is all he can do or does, but it probably helps him on this team having that as part of his game. I know hockey players deal with pain like no one else, but 2 weeks isn't going to give that enought time to really heal. It's just another player hurt that they can't afford.

We're taking on his $3.5M cap hit and had to give up a 4th? They should've given US the 4th...

Unless Holmgren is flipping Gagne and Knuble to a real Cup contender next month, Holmgren needs to go.

Unfortunately, a real contender wouldn't want them.

At least this sends the message to the team that he still thinks they can make the playoffs. Sadly, he thinks Gagne is the man to help them.

I am laughing to keep from crying.

I can understand not approving of the deal. But calling for the GM's job over it. Is an overreaction.
