On a positive note at least Gagne will get to retire a flyer!

And just think of the number of people that can un-retire their Gagne jerseys....

Except I bought mine before the 2005-06 season when they "slimmed" down the jerseys. I'd look like a Phantoms fan in it.

Last year's Alumni Game was during the Alumni Game.

This year's Alumni Game is every remaining game.

Most likely on Wednesday. What's the over/under on Gagne playing more games than Shelley this year for the Flyers?

A tennisball sized lump on his neck removed this last offseason? Really?

Apparently every minor transaction is going to require 57 pages of discussion.

Obviously, the injuries to Read and McGinn led to today's trade. Gagne rejoining the line-up isn't going to result in a young guy that should otherwise be playing sitting out, and there's still plenty of time to swing a deal should they not rebound and make the playoffs. The late TDL gives them more time.

the only part of the minor transaction that concerns me is the cap hit and it's effect on flexibility going towards the TDL.

Happens to all of us. I get the concerns, and honestly that 3rd rounder will be a waste if they make the playoffs and lose in the first round, but that said, there's ways to recoup that pick.

Yup like if they still play like this and fall further back & make a move or a few to gain more picks/prospects in return.

He died in a kiln explosion.

Actually, they say he's 7-10 days away, he's not sold on that timeline, but he is skating

And if Gagne can recapture his past glory to some extent in the "more uptempo" Flyers system, maybe he brings in more than a 3rd at the TDL

The only two defensemen that looked like they were above AHL level were Grossmann and Schenn last night.
