Mez
- stveshdy

He's skating, but that's about it. He's having pain when he shoots the puck, and he hasn't been cleared for contact. I don't think he's close to returning.

Not much of an effect. They can still have plenty of flexibility then, once they make some decisions. And get a better idea of the health of some players such as Meszaros.
- MJL

you mentioned something about the bonus cushion earlier. putting that aside, how much cap space do they have if they maxed out the LTIR not including Mez?

Thanks.

You think the Flyers would move any of their defenseman at the TDL ?

cap flexibility gives homer the jitters
- isaiah520

At least it's only for one year. That flexibility would have been nice if they want to make a run at Perry or Getzlaf.

By April 3, you will have a good idea of if the Flyers will make the playoffs. If they are on the outside looking in, Holmgren should explore trading players to try and obtain picks/young prospects.

Would you trade Coburn or Mez?

Jokinen has two goals vs. the Rags tonight.

Now if a puck would only hit Tortorella in the temple.

- PLindbergh31

..

I wonder if Hank shot the puck into the bench on purpose - trying to hit Torts or Sullivan!

Meszaros wouldn't have much value, he can't stay on the ice.

They could have well over 5M in LTIR Cap space available to them. But understand that the Flyers are currently carrying 17 Forwards, 3 Goalies, and 10 defenseman on the Cap. Sooner or later they'll make some decisions and make some moves. And get out of LTIR and start banking Cap space. They have more flexibility then you think.

If Briere is bought out or traded, they'll have plenty of room to go hard after anyone

The Rangers stink. They can't score. Right now the Bruins and Blackhawks are the two best teams in the NHL by a wide margin.

Still think he gets a decent return. Teams value defenseman.

Adding Gagne who is on an expiring contract adds to the tagging space the Flyers have for next Season.

How many games will he play to show he's healthy by the TDL? I'm not even convinced he will play again this year.

Well he's not. I still believe it's more of a vision issue than PCS. Just my opinion. When he was hit in the eye with the stick that night, the way he reacted I said to myself his career is probably over.

And adding Gagne costs the Flyers $2,156,566 on the Cap. Not 3.5M
