Last season's Stanley Cup winner squeaked in and were in deep trouble at the half way point of the season. There's still plenty of time to dump assets if they are out of contention at the TDL. - Jsaquella
I haven't given up on the season, but I'd prefer we see Wellwood than gagne(an La backup). Forget $$$, let Wellwood sink or swim. The franchise needs to see if these pieces are capable of performing in place of Fed, Knuble...They trade for youth yet kick the can down the road on the young wingers. IMO: |

I, actually, am pretty proud of myself. I think it's pretty
I normally play lots and lots of Elton and pretty much any piano heavy Beatles song. Billy Joel I play a lot as well....some Pink Floyd too....
Plus, I posted it and didn't mess the thread up |

I remember one team that came inches within a Cup win that just barely squeaked into the Dance a few years ago....hmmm....can't quite remember who it was though.... |

I totally disagree. Trading pieces of your future to just limp into the playoffs is why this team hasn't had a cup in more than three decades. Colts are very happy to get Luck instead of trading assets to be competetive. - jstross
the flyers aren't likely to be that bad. besides, we've seen how lotteries work. w/ homer's off season, they were due to fall somewhat. they still run a business and if they can get in and make plyoff revenue, it's one of their org goals. |

Wellwood has great speed, but no hands. He can't score consistently in the AHL, and isn't going to replace Read or even McGinn. It's not as if they have a Bobby Ryan down there, just waiting for a shot. |

12 division championships and 6 SCF appearances since the last cup factually does not support your assertion that the flyers have not won a cup in more than 3 decades because they 'limp into the playoffs'.
Me thinks you are over-reacting.
Also, as someone else mentioned, a team will not be successful without balance - there can't 'only' be youth. Its a 4th round pick. Get over it.
I for one am happy to have Gags back at such a low price tag. We shall see what he has left in the tank (since he's only 32). |

Just infuriates me that you trade Carter and Richards for young players and picks and now your trading picks for instant return. There just doesn't seem to be a plan! - jstross
Younger and more talented players that make your team better overall..

I don't understand why everyone is acting like the trade is totally jeopardizing the future. ITS A CONDITIONAL 4th ROUND PICK! 3rd IF THEY MAKE PLAYOFFS WHICH THEY WONT. I like the trade just to have Gagne back and now we can sit stiff knuble or stiff Feds. |

Well, now that McGinn is out, they won't be sitting Feds or Knuble |

Gags should be put on the 3rd line with Couts and Knuble IMO. Have Talbot center the 4th line. |

Trick question.
Yes if it actually makes a sound coming out. However, if it's a Silent-But-Deadly, therein lies the answer.
Hope this helps. |
