He didn't say it but thought it. That's why it took you to point it out and not him.

Actually I never did think that. I don't think he'll be a franchise dman. Hence why I made it a point to say a #1 and not Franchise. |

Do you think its harder to trade B Schenn after they aquired his brother? Kind of thought it would have been odd to ship him out for Weber right after getting Luke. I was kind of against trading either of them because i thought nashville was going to just take the picks. Unfortunately i am usually wrong in these type of scenarios. - Stinkfitz
Nope. The Flyers traded Rich Sutter with zero trouble, despite his twin brother being on the team |

Weber is arguably the top dman in the NHL in his prime, it would have been a huge price to pay, but I think I would have seriously considered. Basically they would have turned Richards and Carter, into Voracek, Simmonds, and Weber. When you view it like that, how can you pass it up? - PLindbergh31
I really think Homer thought there'd be no way Nashville would match the offer sheet. |
|

I don't think so. Shattenkirk has played well since his career began a few years ago in Colorado. Pietrangelo was not at the level where Shea Weber was when Shattenkirk first arrived in St. Louis. - NickTheKid87

When you look at the situation realistically, after Nashville let Suter walk, how could they have sold it to their fans letting Weber leave as well? |

Frank wrote about asking Briere if he'd waive his NMC because there's rumors that the Flyers asked him for a list of teams he'd agree to go to, if the Flyers are selling at the TDL.
Frank then wrote that the Blues were supposedly one of the teams and mentioned that the Flyers could use Shattenkirk.
That became the rumor, Briere for Shattenkirk. - Jsaquella
Where did you see that the Flyers asked Briere for a list of teams?
Severalli wrote that they didn't and weren't going to. That Briere wasn't going any where despite St. Louis and Boston inquiring.
He mentioned down in the story that the Flyers were interested in Shattenkirk but that even if the Flyers offered Briere it wouldn't be enough. |

I said it before they matched.. The Flyers to me looked cocky with that move. Meh, why trade one of our guys when we can just BUY your guy. |

I was disappointed, but I never truly believed Nashville wouldn't match. |

I think that was ultimately the deciding factor. Had Suter been re-signed, Weber would have had a better chance at being a Flyer. |

Yup. Very little has gone the Flyers way since the start of the NJD playoff series. |

Look for Hartsy to have a big game. You don't have media comments like that following a loss without following it up with your play the next game. |

We've seen Giroux follow up his quotes with a hard-nosed game or two as well. It's the next 5 to 10 games where they start to taper off again. Consistency is the name of the game. But either way, I'll take a lopsided win today over a loss. |

There's been rumors about it on twitter the past week or so.
What Seravalli wrote and what Briere said aren't the same. Briere never said he wouldn't waive his NMC. What he did say was that he had no comment on those rumors and that he loved being a Flyer and wants to stay.
"I don't want to comment on anything at this point," Briere told the Daily News. "Trades are not my department. I've been a Flyer for a long time. My heart belongs in Philadelphia with the Flyers. I can't see myself playing anywhere else."
That quote is hardly I'm not going anywhere, not waiving the NMC. That quote is spin. |

My sentimants exactly. Talk about how the team needs to play. Come out the following game and back it up. Then fall right back in the same rut after one game. Needs to be there every game. |

Did Severalli write another article or post on twitter or something? He quoted Briere. He didn't write that Briere wouldn't wave his no movement clause. He wrote that the Flyers didn't ask him to. |

What is he supposed to say? I doubt the flyers have even approached him about it. |

He wrote that the Flyers have not asked him to. But Briere's quote was not an equivocal denial of his willingness to consider trade.
What Frank tweeted was not exactly what Briere is quoted as saying. |
