My issue is why throw that type of check with the game decided. A 4-1 lead with 20 seconds left isn't the time to do that. Bush league stuff. - PLindbergh31
Gustafsson's play since his recall gave the Flyers the ability to separated Coburn from Gervais (and did they ever struggle as a pairing) and reunite him with Grossmann while limited Gervais to #6 minutes.
Now, if Gustafsson is out for any substantial amount of time, the Flyers are looking again at a choice between a Gervais-Foster third period or separating one of the top two pairings again. - bmeltzer
I would rather see them call up Lilja than play Foster and Gervais on the same pair. Not that he's great, but at least he is defensively responsible, will block shots, and can work the PK.
Bummer eh? Well how is Manning looking these days. Ugh. Tired of the injury bug. - Lexington Flyer
Manning has really struggled for most of the season; more downs than ups. Pretty much whenever he's been paired with Danny Syvret, it's been a disaster.

Disagree entirely. Harry Z is simply playing Hockey. He is still a player that is trying to cement his position on the team. He was taking the body, which as a 4th liner he is going to have to do consistently . Play to the final buzzer.
I didn't fault Perreault at all. That hit at that time when the game is out of hand is never acceptable regardless what the opponent is doing. - 77rams
I completely disagree. Pulling back because its 4-1, 8-0, 6-2 or whatever IMO leads to bad habits. Don't dangle at center ice with the puck and keep your head up. This team is inconsistent enough without everyone deciding on their own when to pull back.

Taking a game misconduct, and probably drawing a suspension is a fantastic way to cement his position on the team.

Just watching him tonight, Gagne can still play. I don't know how many points he'll rack up, but he he knows where to be and what to do with the puck. And I think he'll really help Couturier. - MJL
gags looks like he'll be able to help on special teams at the very least. wish couts had his wheels and balance on his skates...an area for improvement going forward. hard to glean anything from this win given the DNP by the caps, but i'll take the 2 pts anytime.

Not what I was hoping to read, but thanks for the update...apparently Syvret is not a spot option either then...too bad. People had moderate NHL hopes for him at one point, if my memory serves.

Like I said earlier, I'll call some bullsh!t if he gets suspended for that hit. He may because he is a 4th line player, but that is too borderline to suspend him for, in my non-Shanny opinion, of course.
The hit does not deserve either in my opinion. It should have been a 2 minute penalty. - MJL
Agree to disagree. I don't like guys running guys when the outcome of games have been decided. It's a borderline hit at best, if you want to do that in the flow of the game ok, with 20 seconds left in a game where the outcome has been decided I don't agree with it. Just my opinion.

Yup. And MAB not an option. Still recovering from multiple concussions. If Gustafsson's injury is serious, I wouldn't rule out Holmgren trading for someone. - PLindbergh31

Nope. If the Flyers make an AHL recall, it might have to be Lilja again because Manning has had more downs than ups this season. A shame, because he's an earnest, confident and hard-working player, so it's not lack of motivation or work at improving. The results just haven't been there most of the year.
That said, Bourdon actually played better in the NHL than the AHL last year.
