Good offensively, but is a very undisciplined player. Question marks on being out of shapel. I want a defenseman. Not a forward playing defense type.

I'm not arguing, just saying... You know how us flyer fans are and how it goes with players, Couturier would get traded win 4 stanley cups and 6 selke's we'd be stuck with laughton 15 more years of a cup drought and Laught would win like 5 player of the month awards.

Well, I'm just looking at a straight up comparison between the two players.

I'm not against trading Couturier in the right deal, but it's got to be a deal where they get somebody like an OEL-young and with potential to be a Norris contender

I don't think they need an elite defenseman, just a good one that can move the puck and qb the PP.

Certainly if you want an elite one, it's going to cost you Couturier or Schenn, and I'm not totally against that.

IMHO, I believe Homer badly wants an elite d-man as evidenced by his pursuit of Suter and Weber in the summer. I don't think he is moving any of the young forwards without getting a d-man back who can come close to replacing Pronger.

Shattenkirk is a very good offensive defenseman. He might not be that magical, legit number one guy right now, but he could develop into a guy very similar to Dan Boyle, if he's not there now.

Possibly, it is certainly speculation what Poile wanted and Homer was willing to give for Weber. I just don't see the value in acquring a Jay Bo or Campbell when it is going to cost you some type of young asset probably plus a high draft choice.

Got get a Larson, Pieterangelo or Bogo, if it means Coots, then so be it. I understand it takes two to tango to get a deal done.
