I've heard he's been good in the OHL. Glad they signed him.. heard he's a big goalie, but never saw him play at all. No idea how he is technically. If he's a solid prospect, great.. keep on signing these diamonds in the rough and pray we strike it rich.
Apparenlty this Alderson kid has been solid this year.. big kid and he's 21 so he's most likely headed for the AHL or ECHL... - Hextall271

Have we already discussed the O'Rielly gaffe by the Flames?
He would have had to pass through waivers because he played in the KHL after the CBA deadline. They would have lost their first and 3rd and not gotten O'Rielly.
Someone needs to step away from the controls. |

Turns out he wouldn't have had to clear waivers, per Daly. |

We've already discussed it and the clarification from the NHL that the story was wrong and he wouldn't have had to pass waivers.

Yeah.. Exactly. I'd prefer the league contract, but they're looking at the high TV ratings with glee. Like politicians, the money they don't even have yet is being spent. |

Sestito really isn't a big loss. I will say this however. He's a big guy, who can skate and play physical Hockey, with decent hands. Just isn't a very smart player. If a player like that could learn to be responsible and play situational Hockey well. He could make a decent career for himself. But he also has to be given a chance. And he wasn't given much of one here in Philly.
Also good for the Flyers to be making some roster decisions, possibly get out of using LTIR and banking some Cap space. - MJL
ummm then his name would be Rupp.
Why the heck did the Aves match that? Idiots!
I'll miss Sesito, he brought good size to the team. |

Only for the RFAs who are on your reserved list. He was on the list for Colorado but not for Caigary. |

Are Cousins' legal woes behind him? I know he's been tearing it up, but I hope it's all clear for him to start developing at the pro level soon. |

from hockey futures for what its worth
History
2009-10: Anthony Stolarz skated for the New Jersey Devils Youth Midget National U16 team and was one of ten Atlantic District goalies chosen for the Liberty Bell Games. He also played in USA Hockey's Select 16 Festival. In 19 games with the Devils he had a 2.36 goals against and .926 save percentage.
2010-11: Stolarz shared the goaltending duties for the Empire Junior Hockey League's Jersey Hitmen with Kyle Shapiro. He finished with a 10-4 mark and had a 3.19 goals against and .902 save percentage. The Hitmen finished sixth in the West Conference. Appearing in 3 of 7 playoff games, Stolarz was 1-2 and had a 3.13 goals against and .908 save percentage.
2011-12: Stolarz played in 50 of 60 games for the North American Hockey League's Corpus Christi IceRays. He finished 23-26 with three shutouts and had a 2.84 goals against and .920 save percentage. Corpus Christi missed the NAHL playoffs – finishing two points behind fourth-place Odessa in the South Division for the final spot. Stolarz committed to playing college hockey at Nebraska-Omaha in 2012-13. He was invited to the NHL Draft Combine and ranked fourth amongst North American goalies in Central Scouting's final rankings (up from 20th in the mid-term rankings) prior to the 2012 NHL Draft.
Talent Analysis
Stolarz is a butterfly goaltender with good size who makes good use of his size in limiting the choices of shooters. He isn't afraid to challenge shooters, and generally plays a good positional game that doesn't leave many options for an opposing shooter. Stolarz could stand to work on his post-to-post coverage, but that is something that he'll have time to work on.
Projection:Goaltender: Chris Mason, Dwayne Roloson, Mike Smith |
