Watching Mark Howe in the last Winter classic, I think he could still play - Marc D
He would definitely be an upgrade over Gervais and Foster! |

C'mon, it's only a matter of time until he's scoring 35 a year. Playing with the Sedin twins. - MJL

In 1 month, he will have 2 shutouts and his supporters will clamor for his call-up. - Flyskippy
Yep.
Nah, let's face it, after the Kane goal, Leighton could cure cancer, solve the deficit and give everyone a new house and Flyers fans would still hate him more than Hitler, Stalin and Pol Pot combined. |

Yeah like when you sign a guy like Pronger to a 7 year over 35 contract. Gotta get that poop right!
(I'm a Holmer fan and don't hold that against him...Feaster has a much more extensive track record of dumb(frank)ery) - Lexington Flyer
Yeah, I always thought they missed that although the org denied it. |

The talking heads on sportsnet here are talking that Feasteror his staff missed it and they dodged a huge bullet. That would have meant a resignation or firing. Details people details. - Hextall271

Of course, Homer/Flyers haters will claim he's another "one that got away." Like he's going to turn into Patrick Sharp, Justin Williams, or Ruslan Fedotenko. - Flyskippy
He is the next Milan Lucic for sure ... |

At least its only temporary, they will add 2 teams by 14-15. Not that the talent pool is watered down enough, but oh well... |

So they can all be poopy together? I do see someone getting fired over this but it won't be Feaster. It will be his research assistant. Hey Nick new job opening for ya coming up! |

Well, according to God...er, Bob McKenzie, O'Reilly would have had to go through waivers had Colorado not matched. |

The rule released thru the 25 page primer mentioned mid-season signings and trades preceeding signings...says nothing about an offer sheet. - Jsaquella
Basically, Calgary would have had to put ROR through waivers to play him this season, if signed.
Logically, if that were the case, they would have just sat him this year and used him next year. Still would have been a colossal blunder, but they wouldn't have lost the picks and ROR. |

Colorado should have totally let him walk. Maybe columbus would have actually done something right in their front office and grabbed him. Flames would have been so screwed. Cluster(frank). |

MacLean, Morrisson and Marek are saying that Chris Johnson broke the story and treating it as gospel. They now have Johnson on the phone, who says that it would no doubt been fought by the lawyers. He was saying that he was on colorado's reserve list and not Calgary's. Apparently the language of the new CBA is that the RFA's offer sheeted are not exempted waivers in this instance. When this reporter called the NHL, he They confirmed that he played 2 games in the K after the 19th.
Chris Johnson just said he confirmed with Bill Daly directly, he would have had to go through waivers.. There it is. |
