(frank) that basketball blows....could care less if i never watch it again.
- Philly1980

I have no strong feelings on basketball, for nor against. I guess I hope for the best for the Sixers, in an "I don't care at all" kind of way.

#sixers C andrew bynum addressed media and said he has doubts if he can play this year

Does anyone care about the seventy suckers? nope...

- Philly1980

Sixer's fans probably do, I'm guessing you're not the target audience?

obligatory 'BasketBuzz' post

I'd post a better picture of Jeff Ruland as a Sixer, but there aren't any other pictures of Ruland as a Sixer...not enough time to take them

if bynum was healthy this year the sixers would have been a contender in the east
- Crimsoninja

This.

The Sixers were a pretty good team last year and a little the year before. During the offseason they made a big trade for a scarce commodity....legit Center....and it failed. Surely something went wrong in the doctors evaluations of Bynum but the team has to get some credit for actually going for it.

I look at the Sixers failures as more of a mishmash of poor management, crappy luck and a league that isn't built to help teams rebuild.

Dear Flyers,

Thank you for employing a front office which can read, drinks in moderation, only lightly beats the interns, and has a sense of humor. We recognize how important it is for our GM to be respected and feared. In an effort to help with this we, the Hockeybuzz Flyer Fans, have gathered together a collection to buy Holmgren a 6 shooter, a 10 gallon hat, and the entire Dirty Harry collection on Blue Ray. (Tangent contributed the bandolier - no clue where he got it). Please accept these gifts as acknowledgements of you not sucking.

I agree. It's not really fair to blame the team that's healthy because they're built around a guy who may never set foot on the court for them.

They had six doctors supposedly check him out, and the Sixers kept touting that the had done their homework and yada, yada, yada.

Either they're lying to the fanbase or they're inept.

Won it from Chewie in a game of Dejarik. I'm not sure it was worth his arms being ripped out.

Its a shame too. The year they went to the finals with the Lakers was one of the most entertaining playoff runs I can remember. I"m not a huge basketball fan but a good team that tries hard will get my attention. Sadly, I'm pretty sure Collins has lost this team (and possibly his mind a little) and I don't see ANY easy way out of this for them.

Worst thing they could do now is actually keep going down the Bynum road. He clearly doesn't want to play here.

I think they didn't realize the extent of the injury/Bynum had a major setback after they already traded for him. I think they have been lying since around mid November-early December though.

If they didn't already have a history of trading from broken down big men that extends back 30 years, I'd have a softer spot for them.

Ruland, Bol, Geiger, MacCulloch, Mutumbo, Bynum. They ignore all these red flags...

I just feel they didn't do their homework on the guy before making the trade, and the ignored the warning signs. At least they'll have cap room this summer.
