"In regard to all the trade (or after-season buyout) rumors surrounding Briere, I will discuss it more (in) depth tomorrow."

Man you guys are demanding! Poor Bill! Might as well send him to the salt mines after this!

Karl hungus was a great character. - twotoekenn
That's the key with the Coen brothers, fantastic auxiliary characters. From Hungus, to Marty the landlord to DaFino, the detective there's so many great characters that pop in and out.
It's the same in just about every one of their movies. |

Bill set the standard for himself, by being awesome.
However, he's been sick, so we should cut him a break |

if they go 3 and 5 kiss the playoffs good bye - Philly1980
oof... I think we will do better than that. Our schedule is a bit better and some of the others we are playing are getting some more grueling travel which we saw earlier in the season. So I'm hoping we come in strong. (I can dream right?)
I think in the next week or so we'll have a pretty good idea if we'll be headed to the playoffs or not. |

The Hawks next game is tonight against the Blue Jackets so naturally they will lose in regulation. - NickTheKid87
Bob with 65 saves and a goal? Just as we place our backup on waivers and debate how they both suck? |

It'd be great if both got claimed, and freed up roster space.
Sestito never really got a fair shake from Laviolette. I agree that his flaws are correctable and it'd be nice to have a 4th line guy that has his size and skating ability, because he's not a bad player at all. I'd be amazed if he went unclaimed, considering the quality of other who were claimed so far this season.
Leighton is what he is. He has to play regularly to be effective and obviously he's not going to get the chance to do so here in the NHL. I can't think of anyone who would put in a claim, though-maybe Chicago if Coery Crawford is out for a bit with his UBI suffered last night. - Jsaquella
Hey you damned moron, Chicago picked up Henrik Karlsson off waivers, no need for them to grab Leighton. |

personally i think its to early to tell with Briere...If we are out of the playoffs in a few weeks i say give the guy the respect he deserves and trade him to a contender...However if we are in the hunt for the playoffs i say keep danny boy here. Either way the writing is on the wall that hell be gone by next year...Its a good thing and its also a bad thing. On one hand you miss his leadership and what he will bring in the offseason. On the other the young kids will get more time and bigger roles. |

Nice. Glad someone brought up Chicago. I hope not, but it's really looking like they will break the Flyers record for consecutive games with at least a point. (I don't say unbeaten streak, because they have been beaten in the Shoot out). It would be sad to see that Flyers record go by the wayside but I don't see anyone stopping them.
Good news on Gus.
Boosh is better coming off the bench, but he's still been sad when called upon. Not enough playing time with Bryz taking the reigns. - Hextall271

So do I.. hate that we lost him, but that's the cap for ya.
I remember Niity had an AHL game for the Phantoms which was every goaltender's dream. The game was tied 0-0 in OT, and a delayed penalty was called on the Phantoms.. So the other team pulled their tender for an extra attacker, and after Niity either played it or made a save, they accidentily pass it into their own net.. Goal Niity. Shut out and score the winner in OT. |

being in 9th place with all the other teams having a game or two (or more) in hand is like being in no man's land
I agree with you on briere, unless homer gets an offer that blows the doors off

There's not a pressing need to hurry a Briere trade, but if I get good enough value and they're demanding it happen ASAP, I'd do it. |

I'm my own worst critic.
Actually BradleyC4 pointed that out to me and Buts on twitter, because we both suggested the Hawks, after Crawford got nicked last night |

I don't even know if Leighton could get a insurance claim at this point. |

I was just thinking with Crawford hurt, no harm in taking a flier on Leighton...but they got Karlsson, so zero need to. |

Oh come on, he's more realistic than that. How about potential NHL regulars Sean Couturier and Matt Read plus the Flyers 1st round pick, for NHL superstar Sam Gagner and Sheldon Souray's buyout cap hit? The Flyers get scoring punch up front, and a salary cap ghost to bolster our abysmal blueline, at the discounted rate of two players who haven't proven anything ever. |
