My main concern with the 4th line is Rusty and Knuble are basically the same player at this point of their careers. Veterans who rely on saavy as opposed to diminshing physical skills. With Gagne now on the team, Rinaldo can really fit in well as an energy guy on the 4th line. Knuble and Rusty together are just a tad bit too slow for my liking, Lava has to do a really good job of spotting them in a game to not get bad match-ups against them. - ravishingone
No doubt about it. Knuble and Fedetenko are redundant on the same line. Too slow. |

I'm sure he will be. He's the only healthy extra forward on the roster right now. |

The role of "enforcer" is being phased out. Sure there are some really tough guys in the NHL, but if you can't skate a regular shift, it's basically a waste of a uniform. - PLindbergh31
Even though we haven't had a good enforcer since Donald Brashear, I feel this fact is a shame.... |

Don't be shocked to see Harry Z sent back down when he's done this suspension. |

I don't feel the same way. With guys like Harry Z, Sestito in the lineup, makes the Flyers worse as a team defensively. Team defense is the single biggest issue with this team right now. Players like Knuble and Fedetenko play both ends of the ice, and play well situation-ally. They are more capable of playing against other teams top lines then with other players in the lineup in that spot. Both players are adequate skaters for the NHL.

Fedetenko is part of the reason why the PK has dramatically improved. I don't have an issue with him. I just don't think it's prudent to have Knuble on the same line. |

I understand what people are saying about Harry Z. being a loose cannon. He definitely needs to work within the rules when he is making a hit. He will be targeted by officials from here on out if he is dressing in the NHL. That said, he brings energy. The flyers feed off his energy. They are 5-1 this season with him in the lineup. Some of that is surely coincidental but I think he helps get the collective engines going, which is something the team needs. I'm OK with Wellwood or KNuble getting Harry's ice time while Read is out, but when he is eligible to play again I don't think Lavi should blackball him from the lineup. |

Brashear was more than enforcer. He had a 25 point season for the Flyers, which is pretty impressive for what his role was. |

Harry Z will be sitting next to Wellwood in the dog house. |

I'm not advocating Harry Z staying in the line-up. With the acquisition of Gagne, I don't mind having the 4th line with a little more speed. In fact, I thought Wellwood acquitted himself quite nicely as a defensive forward in the playoffs last year. I'm a little perplexed as to why he wasn't called up before Harry Z.
The team defense and decision making has been a problem pretty much throughout all the lines including Knuble and Rusty. For whatever reason, Lava preferred the presence of Harry Z over Knuble. |

Totally agree. I actually was going to post that same comment. Not many teams were knocking down his door. |

Probably. If he can get his poop together though, the doghouse door should be a little flexible, is all I am saying. |

He's not a bad guy to have on your roster, you can use him in a pinch. Laviolette has made the mistake of using him in an expanded role. He's the perfect guy to have on the roster to fill in if there are injuries. He's a pro and is a good guy to have around. I don't think he's a player that can play every game anymore. |

I hope so. I really like the way Wellwood played last year. He plays two way hockey and has a ton of speed which created problems at times. |

Speaking for myself, I missed the games where McGinn played himself out of the line up. I never would have put Harry Z in to begin with and if I was ever forced to, with plays I have seen, he never would have lasted long. With this said, I also would have kept Knuble in the line up over Rusty. I haven't seen enough of Fedotenko to understand why he has never been scratched yet. |

Fedetenko is a key PK guy. If you scratch him, Giroux is going to see even more PK time. You don't want him playing all those hard PK minutes. I don't understand why McGinn was a healthy scratch. McGinn played a very strong game in Winnipeg, he had a fight, and a goal and was one of the better Flyers on the ice. He was scratched the next game I believe. |

Age and he wasn't exactly know as a purely skilled player throughout his career. |

If he plays with any smarts or discipline, he would be more useful than the guys the Flyers are using in the role of the 12th forward. - PLindbergh31
i don't have a problem with knuble as the 12th forward, pitching in here and there on the pk. but no playing > 15 minutes with pp time and late shifts with the game on the line |
