I don't know what to tell you. It couldn't be more cut and dry. Three hits in less then two weeks by one player. All resulting in some sort of injury. Doesn't matter if they were clean or not. What matters is he the player is being watched and those watching felt he deserved a suspension. I feel the same way... - SuperSchennBros
It does matter if it's a clean hit. The boarding call he took against the Pens was borderline, the one he took against the Caps was not dirty and the one against the Sens absolutely was. Had he simply kept his skates on the hit yesterday, he doesn't get suspended and everyone talks about what a great hit it was.
My biggest issue is that he's not a very good two way player. His play away from the puck isn't very good and he's not focused in his own end, especially not the way that Fedotenko and Rinaldo have been.
But he does bring energy, and part of that energy is in hitting. He's just got to learn to stay on his feet. |

They slept through that loss....Holy Moly, they had nothing that night.
Tonight, Budaj was tested more in the last ten minutes than he was in sixty that night. |

Yep. Flyers also started Boucher that game.
This might sound nuts, but I'm not convinced the Flyers will register a point this year in any game not started by Bryzgalov. |

I didn't say that. I think Montreal will eliminate the Bruins in the playoffs though. Ryder will have a big hand in it too. |

Was one of the 3 games this year where the Flyers didn't show up. They have righted the ship. |

F-ing 3 point games. Of the 7 games in the books today, 4 have been three pointers. Of those, Ottawa vs NYI and The Slugs vs. The rags are disadvantageous to Philly. Hate that crap. |

It's possible. I like the chances with Boucher slightly better than with Leighton, though. |

Yes, me too. The thing is the work is so infrequent, it's hard to expect anyone to stay remotely sharp. |

The Flyers are still not very good in their own end. Need to clean that up. They have so many games in hand its hard to get a read on where this team will fall in the standings.

I disagree for reasons I'm not gonna begin to repeat. The kid on the Caps got a lesser sentencefor his elbow on Simmonds and that kid isn't anything special either. |

The only interesting thing to see out of that game whether or not Kaleta will get suspended or if Brad Richards miraculous recovery will cause Shanahan to ignore it.
And honestly, Screw Daniel Day-Lewis....Brad Richards was better as "Guy with crippling injury" than he was as Lincoln |

I wish the NHL would just go back to ties. I know it won't happen though. Buttmann has to cater to the marginal fans. |

No idea. I expect the Flyers to play a competitive game. Whether that results in a win, is anyone's guess. They have to start beating the Rangers and Devils with some frequency soon. |

The "kid" on the Caps is a veteran who has spent parts of ten years in the NHL without ever having been suspended before.
The other thing is, the elbow that Erskine threw was a lot more defensible than the hit Zolnierczyk threw on Lundin.
Erskine's elbow could be seen as a reactionary move. There's zero doubt on Zolnierczyk's hit. The hit he threw on Lundin is a textbook example of the kind of hit the NHL is trying to eliminate, which is why he got 4 games.
It met several of the NHL's main criteria: Head was the primary point of contact, Zlnierczyk left his feet & Lundin was in a vulnerable position.
The previous hits had little to do with the length of suspension. Had they been a factor, Zolnierczyk probably gets 6 or 7 games. |

My biggest issue with the shootout remains why I hated it back in the 1994 Olympics. You're deciding the winner of a game by not playing the game.
Sure, they're fun to watch, but it's not playing the game. |
