"Injured" players cannot be waived?

Knuble is a class act and I'm glad they picked him up. However having him and Fedotenko on the same line scares me because neither one has any speed at all. IF the other 2 players on the line are Fedotenko and Rinaldo, I would rather see Wellwood in that spot.

Both players know how to play and are strong positionally. Knowing where to be when makes up for a lack of speed.

Knuble is not useless. And I would hope that Knuble is in the lineup instead of Wellwood.

Now that Simmonds and hartnell are healthy. Im done with knuble. I'd still rather see Harry z or well wood on the 4th line instead of him. Yeah Harry z made a dumb hit. I'm not going to dismiss him. That 4th line needs a speed element along with Feds and Rinaldo. Speed is #1. Harry z took a dumb major. But knuble cannot keep up with the play and had been racking up the stick infractions

Speed is good no doubt. But in my opinion what the team needs more then anything is smart players, who know how to play smart situational Hockey. This team is lousy defensively. And player like Knuble and Gagne can help with that. Knuble not being able to keep up with the play is BS, and has always been BS. I agree he's taken too many penalties and needs to clean that up.

For a veteran he's been taken careless penalties (most seem to be b/c of his speed).

I don't think it hurts to have a veteran like him available if injuries occur. I would like to see Wellwood get an opportunity but I don't see it happening.

Wasn't Mez/grossman pairing looking real good last year? I'd like to see Mez on the 2nd pair and coburn with gusty myself

Devils place Bobby Butler on waivers. If I were Holmgren I would have some interest in him.

No matter what any of us think, Mez will start on the 3rd pair when he returns, although he will most likely get some time on the 2nd pp unit. After being out most of the season, he is going to be both rusty and not in game shape when he returns.

Even when he is healthy, if the Flyers have a lead in late in the 3rd, you are mostly going to see Coburn-Grossmann and Timonen-Schenn get nearly all the ice time. If they are trailing though you might see them go with Coburn-Timonen and Gus-Mezaros to try and generate offense.

Either way one thing is certainly true: they will be much better with Mez in and Gervais out!!

i think he's made the third line soooo much better, they seem like they're really clicking. and he looked great on the wall on the pp yesterday. i'm so happy he's back

39 points in 108 career games. He's got some decent size 6'1" 200, young legs. He would be a capable 4th line player. I would prefer him to Harry Z Knuble, Wellwood etc...

I had my doubts when the trade was made, but when MacKenzie tweeted that Gagne was in the best shape he'd been in in a long time, I perked up.

And I'm very happy with his performance.

I'll state it again, Knuble does not have a problem keeping up with the play. He skates well enough to play in the NHL. The Coach may have very well wanted more speed and energy in the lineup. But that does not mean that Knuble can't keep up with the play.
