"Injured" players cannot be waived? - phillydentist
That's my understanding. It's to ensure that players who are eligible for waivers will go to teams healthy as all waived players have to pass physicals. |

I had my doubts when the trade was made, but when MacKenzie tweeted that Gagne was in the best shape he'd been in in a long time, I perked up.
And I'm very happy with his performance. - tangent_man

I was bemoaning the fact that you and your Penguins card got past the bouncer. - tangent_man
Oh.
I have a VIP card not a Penguins card, I can get in any blog without lineups. I might be here more often because I can't stand the Pens blog anymore.
Lucky you. |

I remember when we traded Upshall for him. Homer sold that "garbage" that Philadelphia would love his game. |

You are correct. If a player is not cleared to play, he can not be waived. Injured players can be traded, so long as the injuries are disclosed and accepted by the team acquiring the player. |

They're becoming quite the group of Debbie Downer's, aren't they? Although, why you would subject yourself to a bigger group of them instead is rather mind boggling.

I'll state it again, Knuble does not have a problem keeping up with the play. He skates well enough to play in the NHL. The Coach may have very well wanted more speed and energy in the lineup. But that does not mean that Knuble can't keep up with the play. - MJL
We disagree. Knuble is no longer a capable NHL player IMO |

I'm surprised Shelley didn't all of a sudden get healthy just so he could be waived. Is there a rule about games played after injury before you can become waiver eligible? |

Thats the cool thing about facts, even if you disagree with them, their still true.
So seeing as how Knuble is a rostered NHL player right now, he is clearly a capable NHL player regardless of anyones opinion. |

Other then a couple of bad penalties especially the ones in the offensive zone Knuble has been solid.
The one thing I'd say with playing Wellwood or Z when he is done serving time,
is that these guys are still raw and very much work in progress.
They could have given up on Rinaldo last year as a reckless player but they gave him a chance and he has really improved.
Z and Wellwood could turn out similar but they need time.
With Knuble, you know what you have.
I'm not opposed to playing Knuble especially with a playoff spot very much up in the air.
Just saying I think it's too soon to write off Harry Z and Wellwood. |

Is it that bad if you're not a fan of the team that is causing the fan version of Jonestown?
I think schadenfreude alone makes it fun for him when the Flyers have a rough go |

Knuble is still a capable NHL player. My issue is the logic behind using a 40 year old player on the PP and PK and relying on him as heavily as Laviolette was. |
