It is, because the Flyers never had a chance at Patrick Kane. They didn't get screwed, that was the rule in place. |

I dont dwell on kane too much. It's hard enough thinking about all the other poop that coulda woulda shoulda actually been for this team. |

You are correct. If a player is not cleared to play, he can not be waived. Injured players can be traded, so long as the injuries are disclosed and accepted by the team acquiring the player. - Jsaquella
Interesting. Would it make sense then, for the Flyers to try and trade Pronger to a team that struggles to reach the cap floor. Pronger could retire after the trade, he could then most likely collect insurance since he is retiring due to injury. The acquiring team now has a 4.9million cap hit for the next 4 years to help them reach the floor and the flyers get some cap relief.
I could see them trading Pronger to either Phoenix, the Islanders or Nashville. They could offer Pronger and a 2nd in 14 for maybe a 4th in 14. I would trade a second round pick to get out from under Pronger's deal.

Yup. Plus the past is the past. I didn't really mind JVCARter either. Too bad they had to ship him out to get Schenn but I enjoy L. Schenn's game and I am glad that he found his game since coming to Philly.
If they can stay healthy, get Mez back, stay healthy some more, and string together some Ws they can make for an interesting season. With the turnover from last season and the young core, I really had no expectations. I'd like to see them make the postseason and see what they can do. If they can keep the core together, they should be fun to watch for the foreseeable future. |

I can't see a team taking on that kind of cap casualty for 5 more years. Teams that make deals like the Isles did for Tim Thomas usually only want dead cap for a year or two. |

If he's got a year or two left, and they haven't found a way to get out of it, yeah, possibly. |

Make it Harry Z or KNuble or Wellwood for your experiment. I like Rinaldo in the lineup. - Lexington Flyer
It shouldn't matter if there is no suspension the league is saying that the crosscheck to the head is acceptable or at least not suspension worthy. Yes there would be a penalty but no suspension. |

I still say the decisions should be made by a 3 member team. Shanny(or whatever former player), Former Ref, Somebody from the war room. 2/3 needed for suspension, all three must agree on length of suspension. |

And they're still 13 from the Flyers' record |

how bout just make suspensions cut and dry. Dirty hit, first time offense =x second time and so and so forth. If its something like Torres on Hossa than throw a solid 25 games down the (frank)ers throat regardless who he is. Just stop with the favoritism and butt buddy crap |

I know you guys are probably not too happy with the suspension but I think it was the right decision. I won't comment on what alfie did, I'll leave it up to the league for discipline. I have no problem with big hits, in fact I love them, but why would HZ leave his feet like that? He charged from the bench, took a run at a player and then left his feet. Sadly, if he didn't leave his feet, he still would have creamed Lundin and it'd be a clean hard legal hit. |
