So more "buyout Bryz for an unproven goalie" talk. I miss the bob Ryab Fist says

Ooh I know I know how about Danny Briere and coots for Chara?!

- JoeRussomanno

There He is... Another bryz lover... Didn't know bryz was soooo proven??? When did he ever lead a team to a cup? Or even out of the 1st round??? He's an average goalie ( maybe very slightly better) at best. He's just as unproven as many goalies but with horrible contract.

If he's looking a trades right now, it's to enhance his chances of winning now.

Buying out Bryz and Briere this summer to have cap room for a weak UFA crop on defense is dumb.

- Jsaquella

Hey just curious, but do you remember the "Voracek sucks and would hold Giroux back" talk?

Im on board for buying out Briere to address team needs. Buying out Bryz would be idiotic in my opinion.

Was homer looking to win now with Carter and Richards trade? No... It was a rebuild. This team isn't close yet so if he's trading it better be the future not now

I doubt Cousins, but Laughton is a good bet, IMO

Patience. The team defense is a concern for me. This team is only as good as they play in both ends.

Yep it's dumB ? Because it's true and you know it. Bryz was backup on ducks and red wings exposed him Phoenix. Facts buddy. Keep believing he's the next parent. I guEss everyone outside Philly that says he a nice average goalie is wrong

Don't see read getting all that much better. He's almost 27. Where's he going to improve? I like him alot. He's a nice piece on the team but he's more of a luxury I think. I'd moVe him Before our younger players
- SMS4016

So a player like Read who can play on any line. Can play on the PP, on the PK. Plays both ends of the ice and is one of the team's best two way players, is a luxury. Partly because he's soon to be 27 years old. And you want to trade him for a backup Goalie? Which is not a luxury?

It's not a mystery to casual posters here I personally don't like Briere but that's just a personal preference. His playoff performance of timely goals is nothing to scoff at. However there are players waiting in the wings to step in and making Danny an odd piece. So I can be on board with amnesty for him. As for bryzgalov he's the best goalie the flyers had since esche and before him hextall. There's no one in the organization or available via Free agency to replace him. If and when homer can find an upgrade then by all means unfortunately for certain delusional fans there isn't a viable replacement right now who is available.

"if" I love this word. We always have "if" if our goaltending... "if" our defense... We can't have"if" at these positions. We have had ."if" for the last 35years at goal and defense. You do NOT win cup with "if"
- SMS4016

Because if you buyout Bryzgalov and bring in Bernier, there are no longer any "ifs" involved. Bernier is a guarantee!

Okay ill do this just this once. Your questions are moronic because bryzgalov got out of the first round last year on a broken foot against a goalie who has won a cup on a team that was favored to win. Reply however you wish I'm done talking to you.

I am definately not one of those guys who thinks he is the next best thing to a morning orgasm. However he has been pretty damn solid this year, and played at a high level. When he had a rough stretch a few games ago, you could tell his play was dropping. He appears to be picking it up yet again.

I think you let him ride out the season at the very least. The buyouts continue into 2014 so there is time. I wouldnt buy him out unless the team is definately getting Perry, and even in that case Briere would be the #1 guy.

Unless you really have to buy him out to get cap space because you can improve the team so drastically I see them keeping Bryzgalov.

Well then why did he sign Bryzgalov around the same time as he traded Richards and Carter?

Agreed.

If you replace Briere with a faceoff guy and a decent winger more suited to play with our younger guys there is little doubt in my mind the offense will come.

If you buyout Bryz youre just going to have to trade additional assets to get another goalie. That makes zero sense.

All te bryz lovers should watch the kings game tonight. Watch bernier and you will see a younger more athletic and extremely less expensive version of bryz. And just think if you bought out bryz you could have that. Lol maybe that's a little extreme but it's a Monday non game night. Gotta get a little slack.

Dollar for dollar Read is one of the more valuable players in the NHL imo. I really love Read's game. Whoever found him kudos to them. Sure it would be great if he was 22, but soon to be 27 isn't exactly a fossil. I'm hoping the Flyers lock Read up. I'm a big fan of his.
