Personally you know I'd trade off coots for that #1 dman because I don't think having 3 centers is more necessary than 2 centers and a top pairing dman. Keeping in mind Laughton and cousins are in the minors.

Also... I've said it before I think homer finds a 'legal' way to use a compliance buyout on pronger which would be a bonus. Flyers are shady like that. We shall see.

Buyouts aren't a solution to replacing a player. Surely they make cap room, but they also represent another player you'll have to replace.

As for Pronger, not a chance they find a way. I guarantee it.

Ex... Find a couple docs that will clear him to play... Have him show up to camp ready... Buy him out.

Briere needs to be replaced? We can't find a line for him as is. That's $6.5 million right there.

In the case of Briere, they have at least two candidates on hand, which is the primary reason I advocate using a compliance buyout on him. He's keeping Couturier and Schenn from assuming larger roles.
