The process is that the Flyers provide the Medical documentation to the League to place a player on LTIR. The League can choose to challenge that. In which case the player would be examined by an independent physician. - MJL
Fair enough. Pronger getting cleared for the sole purpose of being bought out would probably be challenged by the league. Independent doctor has nothing to gain and everything to lose by clearing him if he is indeed still ill. |

There is a lot more known about Concussions now. Including the diagnosis and treatment of concussions. You don't think the advancements in Medicine has anything to do with it? Pronger could get healthy and return. But that's not what you're talking about. You're talking about finding some Doctors to fraudulently provide a false Medical prognosis to allow the Flyers to buy Pronger out.
I didn't say a word about needing Briere, or not being able to score without Briere. I'm simply stating the Cap realities to you. - MJL
Cap realities.... Assuming a briere buy out and the $6 million for kimmo gets redistributed to coots, schenn, and G....
Flyers would have $13.5 million to resign read, kimmos replacement, and mez's replacement. That's with pronger still on the roster and a $64 mill cap that did not increase. Am I wrong? |

What's the # 1 knock on la? That's right, they don't score goals!!! Sooo read is a doesn't fill a need for them? And a 2nd round pick to? For bernier? Only a back up... With no experience?? Maybe just maybe read is over valued and bernier is under valued. No it's coming from sms4o16 so that can't be - SMS4016
No, it ignores logic, which is why it can't be.
The first logical misstep is that LA's biggest issue this year has been that Jonathan Quick has not been nearly as good as he was last year. That means that the Kings are less likely to trade Bernier, again, even if the return was huge, because they have to hedge their bets.
The second logical misstep is that the Flyers don't have as big a need in goal as they do on defense. If you were to suggest Read and a 2nd for Voynov, you'd have more people agree with you, because the Flyers goaltending has been the team's strength so far.

I think any Doctor has nothing to gain and everything to lose by clearing him if he is indeed still ill. And quite possibly, Pronger himself just might say something.

And again dangle coots for that dman. We got Laughton coming. And as the godly bill meltzer pointed out he's tearing up the ohl. Just curious when is coots offense going to come? - SMS4016
When Couturier was at the same level as Laughton, he put up a 96 point season, after missing the start of that season with mono.

Simmonds' deal also looks pretty damn good right now for a guy putting up numbers the way he is. 6 yrs / $3.9M per.
(and it doesn't even start until next season...$1.75 this year!)

Really??? Hmmm. Kings are 19th in the league in scoring. That's tearing it up let me tell you. Do you watch them? Sorry scoring is their # 1 problem. They are 8 th in goals against sooo goaltending overall is not the problem . Keep searching. Facts are facts. Oh yeah bernier is pitching a shutout. What a shocker |

Doesnt really make a difference. Every team has the same cap to play with for the same number of players. Who's to say what distribution system works and what doesn't? Flyers have two buy outs and Kimmo's money after next year to make it work.
No one is saying each and everyone of these guys are going to be career Flyers. But it's hardly the biggest concern right now. |

Quick's GAA is half a goal a game higher, and his save percentage has dropped from .929 to .901.
Bernier is outplaying him, by a large margin. That is why they won't trade Bernier
I'll repeat that:
THAT.....IS......WHY.....THEY.....WON'T.....TRADE....BERNIER
If they moved Bernier, right now, for Read and a 2nd and Quick didn't rebound, they're not making the playoffs.
Oh, and FWIW, the Kings finished last season 19th in the league in scoring. That worked out well for them |

Let's compare them to their Cup Season. LA gave up 2.07 goals against last year. This year 2.42 goals against.
Kings scored 2.29 goals a game last year. This year 2.53 goals a game.
So to summarize. LA is scoring more goals this year then last year. And is giving up more goals this year then last year.

Yep I'm a moron... Sooo coots a 3rd line center on THIS team( with Laughton as a replacement if coots is traded) is more valuable to THIS team than trading him for a #1 dman (which we don't have and don't have coming from the minors) yep I'm a moron |
