That was an incredible goal. If Crosby had scored it, Pierre would have broken his neck jumping out of the box to get over and kiss him. - Jsaquella
It's disgusting. Nice pass on the first goal but nothing amazing and Pierre almost left his colon on the bench. |

Ah, but that's not Couturier OR a number one defenseman.
FWIW, I'd be open to moving Couturier and a package for a kid like OEL. But let's not sit here and act as if it's a one for one thing. - Jsaquella
OEL for Read and Coots might get it done, which I'd do. But then we'd have to acquire a Perry or someone of the ilk for the top 6. |

He already said Coots, Read and 2 firsts. I think it's worth it. - canadianpenfan
I would only do it if Ekman-Larsson agrees to add a second "N" like Grossmann did. That would be non-negotiable for me. That second N has really helped Grossmann. Think of the impact it could have on a guy with OEL's talent level!!
EDIT: He could actually add TWO extra N's!! Ekmann-Larssonn. Whoa. |

I'd be OK with that, too. I'd be OK with Couturier, Read and a 1st for OEL and a pick prospect back, to be honest.
I'm not against trading anyone. I am against attempts to take two steps forward by taking 3 back.
I'm not one of those who feels they absolutely need to go out and get a number one defenseman. It would be great if they could and not pay an arm and a leg. I'd rather be patient and draft smartly than rush and make a bad deal.

I was just gonna say, if one double N is good, two double N's is like extra bacon on your cheeseburger. |

Why? Does Spray-Tan have 4 goals now? |
|
|
|
The point of my ? Is to get someone like oel we'd have to give up coots or schenn plus someone like read and some picks but that's fine. We are soooo deep at forward and were not going to be able to keep all of them so why wait? |

I think the example is all for not, no way they move OEL. Maybe you'll get him in the long overdue dispersal draft. |

Yes, that part is fine. The trouble is when you combine that part with trading Read for a young unproven goalie, then spent tens of millions of dollars to buy out the current goalie, who has played well, while at the same time buying out the $6.5mm proven playoff performer to pay another guy $7.5 mm a year |

Guess they were snorting Drano the other night when they were both -3 and looked like crap.
Good for them for the bounce back. |

They got hosed in every deal period because their ex GM should have been washing cars and not running a hockey team. |

Poor Jackets can't outdraw the local college there in C-bus. |
