I would only do it if Ekman-Larsson agrees to add a second "N" like Grossmann did. That would be non-negotiable for me. That second N has really helped Grossmann. Think of the impact it could have on a guy with OEL's talent level!!

I'm not against trading anyone. I am against attempts to take two steps forward by taking 3 back.

I'm not one of those who feels they absolutely need to go out and get a number one defenseman. It would be great if they could and not pay an arm and a leg. I'd rather be patient and draft smartly than rush and make a bad deal.

The trouble is when you combine that part with trading Read for a young unproven goalie, then spent tens of millions of dollars to buy out the current goalie, who has played well, while at the same time buying out the $6.5mm proven playoff performer to pay another guy $7.5 mm a year
