Yeah, kinda except I don't find Couturier a despicable, lazy, waste of talent, Franchise/Coach killer.

no most certainly not.

So does anyone claim Roman Hamrlk?

I'd have interest, albeit limited interest.

I don't see the Couturier thing myself. Not that I'm ready to trade him or I think he's peaked or anything but sometimes I read what people post here and I try to find this amazing young player the Flyers have out there and I just have a difficult time finding him at this point.
- mayorofangrytown

He's 20 years old and in his 2nd year. He has the same amount of points as Ryan Nugent Hopkins. The sophomore slump is a real thing.

Is that why Weiss is out for the rest of the season? Or maybe why G had wrist surgery on both wrists at the end of last season?

Provided the hole left by Couturier's departure is adequately filled.

Why can't Couturier stay as a #3 center. He is still getting a lot of minutes and he will be able to produce. One of Mike Richards best years was between Hartnell and Downey as a shutdown guy and he was a point per game player that year.
- psuhockey

I agree. You really need 3 very good lines these days to be a top team. Plenty of icetime to go around. and Laughton isn't going to step in to a top 3 Center spot right away. He can Center the 4th line for one Season. I don't see a logjam at Center.

That's not really what I'm saying though. I'm saying that I'd rather flip Couts for a dman than keep him on the 3rd line. You Have to remember that the Flyers had Timonen in his prime, or just leaving it, at the time you cited with Richards.

I'm guessing guys in their twenties with millions of dollars have no need to stoop to what poor, ugly destitute 40 years have to.

The offense has not come yet, but defensively, by just about every advanced metric there is, Couturier is playing at elite levels.

http://www.broadstreethoc...rier-stats-defense-flyers

- Jsaquella

I hate advanced metrics. They don't work in baseball and they aren't going to work in hockey. Nice tool for managers and coaches but that's about it. I get tired of talking about money and hockey.

I'm in no way implying he's not a good young player and I like him but he's not the player people on here are describing most days. He's not overly physical. He rarely controls the play. He doesn't put up points. I can see how well he plays defensively but if I'm comparing him to a recent Selke candidate and his second year in the league he's no Ryan Kesler.

The thing that is making me more open to moving Couts for the right price is that he and Schenn can't both be #2 centers. If Schenn can play wing as effectively as he can play center, then I'd want to keep Couts and Schenn and put them on the 2nd line. However, if Schenn can't adapt to wing, then you've got a log jam again. They'd be better off trading Couturier for a #1 dman than letting him go to waste by not being in the top 6.
- NickTheKid87

getting that dman is a much tougher chore. if we have assets to make a fair deal, i would do it regardless...esp considering our success drafting forwards.

I'm not talking about this year or even next. I mean in the long run. Laughton may not be ready to be a full time NHL for a year or two but the plan I am considering is over the next 3-4 years.

Shia LeBouf is like the Michael Bay of actors. Like There's no movie Bay cant utterly ruin, there's no role that that little dippoop can't ruin.

If he played Lincoln, I would have rooted for Booth

- Jsaquella

LeBouf is the anti-hero, popular theme nowadays.

I can forgive nearly every role he's played except for his being portrayed as the heir apparent to the Indiana Jones throne. God did that make me angry.

The trouble is, he's not playing the same role or with the same kind of players that others like Kesler got to play with.

Couturier's most consistent linemate has been Max Talbot. Other common linemates have been Knuble and Rinaldo.

I don't fully rely on advanced stats, but I do utilize them to confirm or disprove what I see with my own eyes.

Ryan Kelser didn't play a full season with the Canucks until his third year from his draft year at 21 years old. That might not seem like a big deal, but physically that is a big deal.

I just get a visceral reaction to him. It's like the girl in Blair Witch. I went to that movie because i was told it was great. The only reason I stayed until the end was to see her die.

He played with Tanner Glass and Rick Rypien on the third/fourth line.

Aside: I think we hype up movies to much. Everyone was like "Go see the Hangover! It's so funny". Saw it, thought it was okay because I was expecting much more. Same with Les Miserables recently. Some of my favorite movies have been one's I had not info on before seeing it.
