Maybe Voracek would like to play along side Malkin, when your team starts unloading everyone send Voracek our way. Im sure we will give you a 7th or 8th rounder for him. - nbartley9
Don't the Penguins need defense? |

Seriously? What kinda thrill do you get by coming in here with the sole intention of being a Richard. Did you not get the attention you needed as a child? Were you an orphan of some sort? - jak521
He's just trying to get over the sorry feeling of knowing his golden haired team struggles to beat a team that flirts with the .500 mark. |

This board is depressing me today, sigh. Couldn't even make it through the 3rd period last night.
I love this team and want to see the young guys thrive. Heartbreaking to see them look like last night... - FlyersGrace
They'll put it together and beat the Pens and we'll all be happy again.
Disclaimer: Then they will suck against the Bruins and we will all be depressed again. Rinse and repeat til the end of the season. |

If they can manage to beat the Pens and Bruins, suddenly things don't seem nearly as bleak as before. Losing Grossmann is huge though. Hopefully he misses a game at most. |

That's pretty funny considering Crosby and Voracek can't stand each other. |

So my two favourite moves last night? Luke Schenn's now patented flop on your stomach and swing your stick wildly defensive play (Yes, despite his size, players can easily skate around him).
Also it was nice that he made a dash for the bench leaving Coburn and Timmonen to chase down Nash on a break.
I found it odd that he hasn't been mentioned in conversation today. |

The Flyers have never subscribed to the "Let's dump everyone and suck for 5 straight years so we can draft in the top five and all the while hold the state and city hostage with threats of moving to Kansas City for a new arena" theory - Jsaquella
Jsaq - you crack me up... So glad you're on our side!

Holmgren does deserve some blame for lack of plan B on defense, but the Flyers have won one game against the Rangers in over two years now with two different teams and it's pretty much like watching the same game over and over again. It's as if Laviolette hasn't figured out how to beat a neutral zone trap yet except by protesting it like a pouting child by having the defensemen pass back and forth. Disciplined teams have consistently beaten Laviolette during his time here.
I know defensemen have been raised to mystical proportions by some Flyers fans as a cure all for this teams ills, but I don't see how defensemen will prevent forwards from going offsides, forwards from turning the puck over in the neutral zone, forwards not getting the puck deep for proper line changes, forwards not backing up pinching defensemen, and forwards not shortening the gap between them and the defensemen for better transition defense and easier outlet passes. - psuhockey
Very well siad. What's going on right now, is not a player issue. It's a Coaching issue. |

I think it's time for the Flyers to switch things up for next season. I love Laviolette and what he's done here but I think his tenure is coming to an end. |

I disagree. I think Luke has exceeded expectations so far. He's had a shaky night here and there but who hasn't? Overall, he's made the team better, IMO. |

I wish I could see it the same way you do. I know he is young and still growing into the roll of an NHL d-man, but...
sigh...

On the "flop" play, he was coming all the way from the bench to try to cover for Gus' horrid D change. He had no chance to get into position, and was just trying a desperation move. Not really his fault imo. It would have taken a hell of a play to break up that rush coming all the way from the bench so late in the play.
Yes, he did make a bad change later in the game, and should be held accountable for that. But the flop play was not really his fault. He had to gamble there and he lost. He was put in a no-win situation by the bad change. |

The coke quality is much better in LA. He's also getting laid a lot more than you are.
