it's remarkable. i can't recall a single successful poke check. every time he's attempted it, it's resulted in a goal. either 5-hole or going around him. they need to hire johnny bower on a special consulting gig for this.

The sad thing is, I believe he's over thinking again and expecting the defensive mistake to result in a rebound goal or feeling he has to cheat to prevent a goal from blown coverage.

In fairness they do have more Stanley Cups than times that they intentionally tanked in order to lock up the number one pick. They only did that once.

Yeah. At a minimum, you have to figure he'd be out an extended period just from the concussion. Add in potential eye and bone damage and he's probably done for the year. Hopefully he'll be able to resume his career in September.
