I hate the Blackhawks. I hate how their goalies are terrible but they still win. I hate how they ripped us off in the Sharp trade. I hate Carcillo. I hate the stupid "Q-stache". I hate 2010. I hate how the Flyers should have Kane.
I love their jerseys though.

No worries. Championships aren't won in March. |

no no. emery will get a shutout in a 0-0 game. THEN sharp will score in the SO for the win to break the record. they'll win with no goals technically being scored. |

a 1-0 Emery shutout.
He stopped 5 odd man rushes in that game. |

I'm hoping for a Montreal/SJ SCF so I can watch it without being enraged by who wins. |

Chicago does play an aggressive forecheck game, but the difference is that I see the third man staying a little further back and the forwards do NOT overstay their welcome in the offensive zone. They always have at least one forward back far enough on the defensive side when possession is gained by the other team.
Their forwards aren't chasing the puck out of their offensive zone like the Flyers always seem to be doing. - MBFlyerfan
Here's the big difference as I see it. A team like Chicago, reads and reacts. They are aggressive on the puck and attack on the fore check when it is there. And if they can't get in on the puck they regroup and come at you with secondary pressure at 2/3rds ice, or with neutral zone pressure. They get into the passing lanes and cut the play off. Good teams pressure the puck all over the ice and make you fight for every inch. There are layers to a quality team's pressure and checking. They put themselves consistently on the right side of the puck. And they support the puck and their teammates all over the ice.
With the Flyers it's 2 men in regardless hard, with F3 in an equally aggressive posture. One pass beats them all. Such as a simple chip off the wall by Girardi sets Nash free. All 3 forwards were at or below the puck on the offensive side on the play.

Precisely, that's an aggressive forechecking, yet it's smart and responsible. You don't forego the defense for offense. Or vise versa. - GirouxForTheShow

Only 6 games away from breaking the record. I don't think it's technically breaking it because there are different rules now, never in a million years did I think that record would even come close to being broken, I would be shocked now if they don't break it. |

Not true when you're building a team and developing players for the future. There is a big picture. You have to look at how you play. No Coach in the World would think that way.

Their next six games are against garbage teams. They have a legit shot at breaking this record. |

i don't understand how they can count the games from last season. makes absolutely zero sense, ESPECIALLY since this season started in january, and there are only intraconference games. this has nothing to do with the record being owned by the flyers either. |

Heard rumors that he might never be able to play again. This is two years in a row where he's been very solid.
Sign him in the offseason. |

I can agree with this. I'd prefer an aggressive style team. You push the envelope before the envelope pushes you. But there should be/is a point where hockey sense and smart risk taking should come into play. When to have that F3 aggressive and when to have him fall back. When to pressure in the neutral zone, and when to recognize the counter attack speed of the other team and fall back. And the line changes good god
This team is full of stupid. And lately I've been looking to Lava. The only coach he out coaches is Bylsma. Which is good for about 6 wins in a regular season. |
