Too many Flyers not willing to take a hit to make a play.

That "turnover" by Gus was really Briere not being willing to battle for that puck along the boards imo. He's got to fight for that puck not just wus out and leave it for the Pens player there. If they're not giving the D any safe targets for outlet passes then they have to be willing to battle for those wall passes and get the puck out.

Same goes for the failed dump-ins. Too many times they worried about taking a hit and they half-ass the dump-in attempt and it doesn't get deep.

And I have no idea why they're pulling Bryz. None of those were bad goals, and Boucher is not exactly confidence inspiring.

For a coach that really pushes the pace and expects his team to attack, the Flyers really came out looking to sit back once the 2nd started.

This has very little to do with systems.

agreed. as usual, they've simply stopped playing and are just trying to survive by getting the puck out of the zone. bryz hasn't a chance on any of these. completely the team in front of him playing like poop.

Categorize that as one AWFUL call at a pivotal time of the game.

Putting in Boucher is a dumbass move.

However the way this team came out to play, or has played in the 2nd period has nothing to do with systems. Or what the coach preaches. They came out playing nothing like they did in the first 20.

I see far more than a simple coaching issue. Thats what I am continously getting at.
