He said he's ready, despite the pain, if he's allowed to play. I think he's pushing it, but they could use him.

I'm not sure what commercials they see in Pitt, but nobody should make fun of Nickleback if they like Pitbull, Bud Light...Miller Light, Coors Light, etc.

I just read that Read, Grossman, and Mesz are all day-to-day, so there's a chance all 3 will be in tonight. Which would be a big upgrade for us.

For the first time all season, Peter Laviolette may be able to pencil in a full and nearly healthy lineup Thursday against Pittsburgh.

Matt Read, originally projected to be out 6 weeks with torn rib-cage muscles suffered 2 weeks ago against Pittsburgh, was upgraded to "day-to-day" by general manager Paul Holmgren. Read has been skating regularly and tested himself with contact on Monday. If he does not return Thursday, he likely will be back Saturday in Boston.

Nick Grossmann, who left Tuesday's loss in New York after the first period, is also "day-to-day" and a possibility for Thursday. FOX 29's Howard Eskin said Grossmann has a groin injury.

Perhaps most importantly, defenseman Andrej Meszaros could be back for the first time since Jan. 24. Meszaros' dislocated left shoulder was also listed as "day-to-day." He would bring much-needed mobility to the blue line. Meszaros missed Monday's practice with an illness.

If both Grossmann and Meszaros cannot play on Thursday, Kurtis Foster likely will step into a role. Foster, who also has been sick, has been a healthy scratch for nine straight games.

He should probably sit a few more games, especially if we have both Mesz and Grossman in the lineup tonight. Our biggest problem isn't at forward, although forwards who aren't responsible defensively is a bit of an issue. (Looking at you Briere, Simmonds...)

From what I've heard, Meszaros is out, and Grossmann is possible. Read should definitely take it easy for a while.

Hartnell is a terrific hockey player. One of the best power forwards in the game. I love how he plays and he appears to be a great person as well.

He's good, especially in front of the net. And he's not afraid of anybody even though he's all of 180lbs (ish). But he needs to work on d-zone puck pursuit, finishing checks, etc. He peels off a lot and it drives me f'n nuts.

Hartnell is definitely the more complete of the 2 players, but he's also older.

It happens. The irony in some posts can slow down the reflexes.
