Oh and trade Voracek! He has more goals and points than Bobby Ryan and Corey Perry! How are we supposed to complain about not having a first line winger if we do?! - NickTheKid87
I was lambasted during the lockout for my opinion of Czechie... I now walk around with my chest puffed out.. until my wife yells my name... then I am like a little dog who just pissed on the rug. |

Please tell me when he is healthy
You do not win with his type of character, all about money for him and is my least favourite flyer, just my opinion. - flyerdude17
There is zero substantial evidence to support that Meszaros is all about money andlacks character. |

So you're saying that Bryzgalov hasn't made big saves this Season to bail the team out? To carry them through a period and keep the game scoreles or close, when the Flyers are being drastically outplayed? Because in the games I've watched, that has happened more then I can even recall. In fact he's had to do it more times then not. - MJL
Guys behind us in our section - who were killing him in criticism last year - were saying that, once again, the team is faltering and it wasn't Bryz's fault.
For instance, were Grossmann healthy, I don't think Kunitz gets his goal. Grossmann probably gets more strength on the kick motion and the puck doesn't sit there for the Kunitz tap-in.
As for the rest of the game, where ineptitude set in, Bryz gave them a chance to win. They should have come out and rolled over the Pens - at least stifling them in their own end - through adjusting to the Pens' adjustments and through keeping the pedal to the metal. |

In the concourse by the 11th Street side escalators last night, I had a guy ask me where I got my Hartnell jersey. He said I had exactly the one that he's wanted for a while. I answered his question (that I got it as a Christmas gift but probably came from River City Sports) and then noticed as he walked away that his hat was a Pens hat. - Flyskippy
I think his little thing with Hulk Hogan in Pitt last year won a lot of fans |

I supported the "ginger line" as well. In the future though, I'd like to see the Flyers move Voracek to the second line with Schenn and get a player sort of like Kunitz is to Crosby to play with Hartsy and G. My dream would be to get Patric Hornqvist. |

I also realized later that I just got the jersey autographed last week and wondered if he meant a signed one. Oh well. |

Just curious if anyone thinks the Flyers should revisit Joakim Eriksson. Hovinen is gone, Heeter got demoted. Stolarz is doing well, but he's 3-4 years minimum away. Boucher and Leighton have been pretty abysmal, and Bryzgalov, if he keeps this up, is an amnesty possibility. If he's willing to come over, I'd be interested in seeing Eriksson get some AHL time and maybe in a year or 2 he gets a shot at camp (a la Bobrovsky). |

Hell if anything.. its the opposite. He is a team leader who loves to be with the crew, and plays his ass off. Worked extremely hard this offseason to get back from the achilles injury. He has had a rough calendar year with the injuries.. but outside of that and one season in TB he has been a pillar of health. |

Keeps what up? Getting left out to dry so that he has to make four or five saves and hope he can glove it because he's got more clothespins on him than an Amish laundry line? |

I don't see Eriksson and Hovinen being anymore than NHL back-ups if that. I'd develop Stolarz and sign a better back-up in the meantime. |

Outside special teams, the Flyers are just not that good of a team this year. They have good individual pieces, for the most part, but they have a lot of lesser bits thrown into the pot which are doing very little to help the team. And the better players are mostly young, inconsistent and learning.
Also, if the Flyers are so predictable to the rest of the league, and they've already played the Pens twice this season, why would anyone believe Pitt would start the game with anything other than the strategy they are rumored to have "adjusted" to in the 2nd period?
To me, it's a matter of execution: the Pens did, the Flyers didn't. - wolfhounds
You don't start out a game playing like you have the lead late in the game, unless you feel that you are totally outclassed by an opponent, and feel that is the only chance you have. And the changes the Pens made weren't rumored, it's a fact. And it was clear to see. Especially the changes they made in the 3rd period when they got the go ahead goal. |

He should have had the 2nd goal (over comitted) and the 4th goal (not a severe screen). The other 2 were weird bounces or deflections, but I had no confidence in his stopping any shots after the 2nd went in. |

I thought you made some good points though. I just forgot what they were because the post was so damn long.
But seriously, you're right. Their depth at D has hurt them big time although I'm happy with Gus' play. The biggest issue I have with it is that Lavy keeps trying to run his offense as if he still has Carle, Pronger and a healthier Timonen. - NickTheKid87
High risk high reward system.
Really good with the right players.
Getting killed with it this year.

But you have confidence in the team in front of him to give him a good chance to clear something after he makes the first save? Pinning the blame on Bryz is the popular and incorrect move. |

The roster in 2009-10 was perfect for his system as well as the 2010-11 team for the most part. Since, he hasn't made the necessary adjustments. |
