No doubt, I'll root for him elsewhere because I loved his style here. It's just not the style this team needs, apparently. Heck, I liked Hitch but not as much as Lava. - Flyskippy
I don't think it helps to make mid season coaching changes. If you do, probably the best option is to let an Assistant Coach take over. I am a big fan of Holmgren and disagree with those who think he is a problem.
But for those of you who desperately want a change, the solution is to fire both the GM and Coach at 4:30 this afternoon and to hire Brian Burke and Lindy Ruff at 4:45.
The GM job isn't to get the players to player fundamental hockey at a level attributable to an NHL team. There are worse assembled teams doing better. - JoeRussomanno
Agree; agree. But the GM needs to get the mix right. This team has some very talented players but also weaknesses that weren't addressed. I know, I know most teams have weaknesses. Getting this current group to play better even a lot better won't be enough in my opinion.

Conversely, the coach needs to adjust his system to fit his roster. What if it was injuries and not a failed acquisition of Weber?
The Flyers are poorly coached. There's no discipline, no accountability and they can't adjust to beat disciplined teams. That stuff is largely a matter of coaching

I believe they are fundamentally a good team with great young talent. There are a few missing key pieces. But this is a sophomore slump after they over achieved last year.

Yup. A coach can teach, but it's up to players to execute.
The idea that Lavi is a good coach who doesn't make adjustments is a bit absurd. How can he be both?

It is a slump to an extent, but there's also a huge lack of discipline, guys aren't being held accountable and the adjustments to a revamped roster haven't been made or simply are not effective.
So what do you think fellas?...I like Lavy a lot and love his system but one has to wonder how much better this team would be with a more defensive minded system. This team has too much talent to play this poorly, they have definitely regressed that's for sure. If this continues hopefully the Flyers can find new homes for Briere and Timmo granted obviously they wave the NTC. I'm thinking they might as long as its a contender.
