I know Couturier is young but I thought the Flyers would get more on offensive from him. |

Good quote from Dustin Leed on twitter:
Do you build around coaches' system, or do you build around players on the ice? Because Philly failed at both. And it equaled trades. - feelingkettle
There are a lot of good players on the flyer roster. |

Yup. A coach can teach, but it's up to players to execute.
The idea that Lavi is a good coach who doesn't make adjustments is a bit absurd. How can he be both?
The players can, however, be tuning him out. - wolfhounds
Good coaches get fired all the time. Hitchcock got fired and is doing a great job in St Louis. |

Conversely, the coach needs to adjust his system to fit his roster. What if it was injuries and not a failed acquisition of Weber?
The Flyers are poorly coached. There's no discipline, no accountability and they can't adjust to beat disciplined teams. That stuff is largely a matter of coaching - Jsaquella
Who was the bone head that hired Lavy? From Stanley Cup winning coach to this. Injuries could be the reason. They've had their share but it exposed a lack of depth. |

He's not really given much opportunity in a scoring role. |

How ironic would it be that Boston is the last team Lavy faces behind the bench |

Yup. I fully expect Lavi to be gone. If the Flyers aren't going to make any big trades - and so far they aren't in any rumors - then the change is likely to be the coach.
I'm cool with that. And it might help. I'm just saying the problem goes beyond the coach. |

He hasn't really earned the opportunity. Even when he does get shifts hes like a ghost in the offensive zone.
I do agree with you though. They should give him more opportunities. Why keep wasting time with Briere who should be gone at the end of the deadline or year. |

It wasn't boneheaded to hire Laviolette. For whatever reason, what he's doing now isn't working like it did in 2010.
Injuries could be the reason. But why is Ottawa continuing to do solidly without their star center, leading goal scorer, Norris Trophy winning defenseman and star goalie? Why does New Jersey continue to be a good team despite losing it's star forward, Zach Parise?
Laviolette is running the same scheme with Schenn, Gervais, Foster, Gustafsson and Grossmann he did with Pronger and Carle. |

Exactly, Briere hasn't earned the extra time, either. Rather see Couturier play with better skilled wingers and see if he can manage to get something going. |

It is a slump to an extent, but there's also a huge lack of discipline, guys aren't being held accountable and the adjustments to a revamped roster haven't been made or simply are not effective. - Jsaquella
New coach and a breire trade would make me happy.
On a positive note it sure is nice to see Read zipping around out there and Mezzy with some nice D to D passes. |

I agree. What the Frank is going on, I always went for the Flyers in the playoffs the years the Leafs Missed. Do they Miss Pronger that Bad? Is Mr.Universe That Bad? Is Laviolette That Bad? How much do you guys want for Rinaldo???? |

I feel like Holmgren can't really make any decent trades. Either they ask for the moon, or they push too much cap coming back Philly's way. It's almost as if the NHL teams collectively have all agreed to fleece the Flyers. After all, they're the reason there was another lockout (Shea Weber). |
