this isn't a failure of Holmgren and his acquisitions ... it's a failure of the team to consistently play the way the coach wants them to.

Holmgren deserves to be re-evaluated, but a lot of his moves have been influenced by pressure from above. It doesn't help when you have a coach trying to play a system designed for Chris Pronger and Matt Carle with Nik Grossmann and Luke Schenn.

You have to adapt for the players on hand.
