so is this the end?
Hell in a handbasket? - nails
Peanuts have truly been unleashed. On the ice and on HB.
Not in the good way |

Just wondering.
The lockout had me in kind of a "meh" mood before this season began.
Anyone else getting close to it? - flyer_nutter
If the Flyers started the season 20-0-3 you would have been more into it.
Following a team that goes through the motions takes the fun out of being a fan. |

So, we should ignore all the other pronouncements of the owner, too? How dare we criticize Mr. Snider and his Good Ol Boy network? - Jsaquella
Snider deserves his share also. Everyone from top to bottom need to be held responsible. Its unacceptable for this team to be where it is in the standings with this talent. Just shouldnt happen. |

Incredible #'s here from Carchidi.
* Danny Briere has not scored a goal in the last nine games, and he is minus-8 for the season.
* Couturier has two goals in 24 games and is minus eight, and Scott Hartnell has one goal in 10 games.
* Rusland Fedotenko and Max Talbot each have one goal in 26 games. |

They should stick with lavy... Top 4 pick here we come! - Philly1980
I will not advocate tanking for a second. I hate that. Despise the approach.
However if they can get one of Douin, MacKinnon, Barkov or Zadorov it will make things a bit better.
I think all four will be top NHL players in the future. |

The question is can they turn that top 4 pick into a third pairing defenseman in 4 years? |

He's too good for that. They would get close and fall short. Start turning into the leafs of the last decade. Never quite good enough and never bad enough for good picks in the draft. |

I don't know that I'd blame Bryz for any of those goals today, maybe the third one, but I don't think he had much of a chance on the other two |

Ohhh definately.
I expected it to be an evaluation year to begin with, but the lockout really put a lemon in my ass. |

First two very little chance. Third one could have definitely been stopped. |

He's too inconsistant for that price tag. I don't know if I could handle his play for another 6-7 years. I've stated before that I don't like any contract over four years unless its for a player like Crosby, Malkin, etc. |

When a goaltender has the kind of contract he has you expect more. Bryzgalov's time in Philadelphia was filled with drama last season. Apart from that he has not performed like he is paid to do so. Far too much inconsistency.
He needs to be a top goaltender in the league for his contract and even though the team has not helped him, he has also shown the ability to make those momentum saves. It is the inability to make those consistently, mixed with everything else that has me finished with him. |

But look at those things.
Sure, you would expect more goals from Hartnell, but did anyone really think last year was going to be the norm with him or Talbot?
And Couturier is in the typical 2nd year funk. As long as he is playing responsible hockey, the goals will come around later.
Fedotenko should never have been counted on for goals.
And Danny....?

There was a time not too long ago when the team was slipping. Briere came out and said during the INT that "they arent done yet", or something to that extent.
I believe he came out to score the game winner but my memory could be bad.

I'm done with Briere. He should keep his mouth shut and learn to play two way hockey. |

Not a personal attack, but there are some on here that believe effort is not an issue with this team.
Its one of the biggest one's in my eyes, followed by stupidity. |

No. I was just addressing the comment about the goaltending and the reasons for his frustrations regarding same.
Which I wholeheartedly agreed with. |

I can't argue with this, I haven't had a chance to watch many Flyers games this year, but he does seem to have consistency issues. |
