12 GA in 2 games. So much for the "best defense in the NHL"...
I can hear the pregame before thursday's game in Ohio..."we need to get back to a simple game"..."need to play a complete game"...blah blah blah |

Well...at least they didn't roll over and completely embarrass themselves...put up a bit of a fight.
...I'm not looking forward to the game in Edmonton. Likely will be ugly for the Hawks. - ArlingtonRob
I am. If they call ticky-tack penalties all the time - might as well get your money's worth. Hall, Smyth will get theirs. |

Well at least they made it entertaining. That being said, Hawks have been relatively slow in the first period all year and will get smoked if they keep starting like that.
Really hope there's some shakeup. Bring someone up from the Rock, shuffle some lines a bit more, DO SOMETHING.
Brookbank had probably his best game as a Hawk, and it still wasn't very good. Yikes...
Would love to end Columbus's streak, as in their eyes it rivals in magnificence to our recently deceased streak. |

Terrible terrible game. I don't care if thy made it interesting. There is absolutely no reason to lose to the Oilers, a team that came in reeling. And was looking lost during the road trip. This pk has been bad the last week. They lost the game today. Terrible pk and effort. I can see a big losing streak coming on the road. Huge disappointment today |

Wasn't so much a drubbing as it was the Oil came ready to play and held on, Hawks barely woke up from their nap in the second period. 1 goal game is hardly a slaughter no matter how many pucks ended up in the net. |

Smith certainly can come up and play in my book, and he can slide up and down the line-up and take draws. Guy has paid his dues and should've been with the club a long while ago if it hadn't been for fuggin Brendan Smith and a hand injury vs Grand Rapids. |

Was it turn back the clock night at the UC, because the Oilers were holding and grabbing like it was '82 out there. |

Brandon Saad has NO business on the PK. None. On goals #4 and 5 from the Oil, he either didn't pick up his guy when they swung the puck to the other point, or it was a miscommunication w/Bolland. I'm thinking the latter, because Bolland almost hesitated like 'Oh poopttt, guess I need to cover this guy'.
I like Saad, think he'll be good, but he's starting to get into more than he can handle, ala Nick Leddy circa 2010 thru 2012 |

Oil entered action tonight without a goal in 8 periods...
Leave it to the Hawks to snap them out of it...
...and what is it with the Oil and the Hawks? Last few years the Oil carves us up in 3 out of every 4 matches...just brutal hockey.
My Stanley Cup-o-meter is pointing to the Bruins at this point of the season...
...and my Hawks-o-meter is sensing a first round exit...yet again.
The cynic is back!!! |

Apparently mugging the Hawk forwards is acceptable going by the way the last 3 games have been called. |

Bad, bad game up and down. I just don't understand how they always get whupped when they play the Oil. It's not like the Oilers don't come at them.
Aside from a little less physicality, the Hawks have a helluva time against them and the Avs. |

That's not why the Hawks lost. Oilers took it to 'em, so I give credit where it's due. Just commenting that I saw at least 3 blatant holds that weren't called, especially after Leddy got whistled for the same thing on Eberle, which was far less egregious. |
