These two games have been quite the reminder that this team is good, but still has problems. I'll try to be optimistic that StanBo can pull something off in the next three weeks. As everybody knows, they need a better second-line center, and some tougher, grinding wingers (who can play decently) for the bottom two lines.

Yeah I believe your right on that; I think the issue at least with whoever I was listening too was Buttercup didn't have the puck at that point and was ambushed by Hall. I'd have to watch it again though.

Don't get your panties in a twist. Didn't say the Oil didn't deserve it tonite, despite Hall being a douche bag. Purchased tix to this game cause I think that if the oil can get their SH!t together they'll be pretty good in a year or so.

That being said, no one is forcing you to sit on a HAWKS blog and listen to us complain about Hall, the refs or anything else. We wear big boy undies around here. Man up or get off.

Penalty kill KILLED the Hawks, that and not showing up to start the game, which goes on Emery and a bunch of Hawks standing around waving at pucks. A couple of these guys appear to be very tired and/or reading their own, ahem, "press clippings."

Hossa was the Hawks' best player: 1/1 +1, 7 takeaways.

Hossa is exactly what the Oilers need

Hawks lost because of the following:

Flat first period....like the they were in haze. Got caught standing still and not stepping in front of the Oilers the whole period. Sloppy puck control as well leaving the Oilers to play in the Hawks zone the whole period.

Couldn't stay out of the box. The key to beating the Oilers is keeping them off the pp. Hawks gave up 3 pp goals tonight.


It's two games so I'm not ready to be in freak out mode but..........seems like the hawks old bad habits have awaken.

Me? Nothing in particular makes me hate Hall specifically. A lot of these play-making star types love to put their stick where it doesn't belong though. Slew-footing, slash-and-turtles, the works. Guys like Hall, Skinner, hell even Crosby pull that poop all of the time.

It's the way hockey is, but it frustrates me to no end to see guys with so much talent act like $hitheads (like the other day when Captain Landeskog elbows Duncan Keith in the head and then wussys out on dropping the gloves).

Have to say how shocked I am at a lot of the crap I am reading here tonight. Someone help me out and direct me to the website that lays out the proper way to lose a game. I know I should just log out and move on, but really, now we are the same team that lost last year, Everyone afraid we can't kill penalties.

This is the Freaking NHL. The parity from top to bottom, the margin is hair thin. And a bad hop or an off shift and it shrinks or blows up in your face. That is the nature of the game.

A visit to a childrens hospital is more uplifting than most of you guys. For Gods Sake.

The wisdom of the board last few games is we need to learn from Colorado and Edmonton. Two teams that will likely not even make the playoffs. Here is a little clue guys. Both of those teams are trying to be the Hawks. The Hawks just ran off 24 with a point. I know it is all a mirage.

Anyways, lets hurry up and trade our roster and become like Phoenix so we are a little more physical and maybe we make the playoffs every few years. They you can get all those crucial body checks. Hey did you see faceoff stat tonight. Dominiated, we even won one clean and still gave up a goal. And Edmonton made 3 body checks all night.

The reality of it all is when the Hawks woke up and got engaged they carried the play for 2nd and 3rd period. Crawford made a couple of big saves to keep the game in reach.

Jamal Mayers needs to no dress anymore. It is like watching my dad come out and try to play baskeball with me and my buddys.

Call up Morin or Smith and find an energy guy for bottom six that has energy.

Kane may do some things off the ice that leave you scratching your head, but you'd take him on the Oil in a heartbeat. What he does on the ice is mostly pretty awesome and he's actually coming back and playing D more the last 2 years.

I don't think Kane's ever done anything like throw the knee out on a guy; never been suspended that's for sure.

Either way, Oilers came out flying tonight and deserved this game.
