And literally nobody is saying the feel he absolutely shouldn't be a buyout candidate. One poster is saying he thinks the Flyers don't consider Bryz a buyout candidate (this is not a frivolous distinction).

The one thing I take issue with is that you've blanket labelled every attempt to give context to Bryzgalov's tenure as 'excuses'. That's just lazy. Excuses have been made by some in the fanbase, but there are absolutely factors to consider. Numbers are important, but when you disregard all context you're not truly evaluating his capabilities as a goaltender, you're just trying to win an argument on the internet.

My back hurts. How do I fix it?

Stopping eating cheesy gordita crunches, and start doing crunches.

In all seriousness.. its probably from either overuse or tightness in the hamstrings (or a combo of both). Better posture, if you are sitting for long periods of time get up and move around a little bit, and most importantly.. stretch routinely.

Still can't compare 80s players to 10s players.

And I don't disagree with anything Bill said and that quote is totally irrelevant to what I'm even saying.

Hypothetically speaking, do you think Henrik Lundqvist would have won the Vezina last year with this current Flyers team in front of him?

- NickTheKid87

the quote is totally relevant to what i said originally and how it got to where it's at now is beyond me. i'm not pleased with his performance based his #'s, the predictability of his performance in certain game situations and what i believe is a lack of mental toughness needed for sustained success. he's a buyout candidate, but i understand why homer might want to wait another yr.

king would have played better and more consistently than bryz and that's all i care about.

Holmgren shares the fault, but I feel it's 60-40 or more towards the coach. He's known since last August that he wouldn't have Weber, Suter or Carle. Yet the adjustments haven't been there.

It's not as if Carle and Pronger were options. The GM can't land everyone he wants, the coach has to adjust to what he has.

Of course Lundqvist would be better. He's the best goalie in the world.

No one is arguing about Bryz being a buyout candidate because he absolutely is.

What is irking me & others is that you refuse to add context to his statistics and just write off everything we say as excuses when that is not the case.

Exactly. As good as Lundqvist is, (and make no mistake he's great) he's been unable to boost the Rags past their weaknesses (lack of scoring) to get them to a SCF.

I have to check the list. In theory that would make sense. Buying Bryz out, then having to trade away assets for a proven goaltender would be extremely costly.

Woah, you may be right about the posture and the sitting in the same spot, but how dare you suggest I'm a taco bell addict!

Kinda feels weird that Michael Leighton has more wins in the SCF than Lundqvist. Means nothing but it's funny.

Well since Lundqvist has never played in a SCF....

The crazy stat I like is how many times has Brodeur had 3 shutouts in one playoff series? Leighton has done it...

Best stat: Ville Leino holds the NHL RECORD for most points in a postseason by a rookie (tied with Dino Ciccarelli).

i'm not the guy who chased people away from this site with my inability to say "i was wrong". i'm not that guy and i'm more than willing to own up to the many screw ups and misjudgments i've made. i think that's an important distinction to make on this site.

i have not labelled every defense of bryz a lot of excuses even though i saw too many last yr. i realize that this d lacks mobility and is below avg in it's outlet passing. the forwards cheat constantly and blow their assignments. the coach has failed to instill a defnsive mindset in this team and seems to consider timeouts as a sufficient adjustment. homer struck out this past off season and made what i thought, was a bad trade. bryz came back with a blank slate with most of the fan base and has wilted like the rest of the squad. i expected more given what he did in PHO and i haven't been impressed even given consideration all of the above.

when i first posted about bryz this morning someone, it was suggested that i'm just looking at his performance w/o taking the whole situation into context and that he shouldn't be considered a buyout candidate until circumstances around him improved. i disagreed and the name calling ensued from some directions. enough.
