Yup. Well we talked last week about securing 3 points in the games against the Rags, Pens, and Bruins. They managed a big fat zero. Not good. - PLindbergh31
Not good at all. I can't see it getting any better either with the Devils coming up. NJ hasn't been great of late but we know how the Flyers struggle against them. |

Not sure I get the criticism for winning a one goal game against Buffalo. You don't get style points for winning by more than one goal.
The legit concern would be that once again the team didn't play a full 60 minutes. The third period was lackluster to put it kindly. - PLindbergh31[/quote]
i think that's the criticism. at least from me, anyway. |

If the Sabres had come back and tied that game, you think Laviolette is still the Flyers' coach this AM? - johndewar
That's a tough call. I'm not sure he is. |

somebody needs to be canned and I am not sure its Lavy - vejim
Not giving a full 60 minute effort plus poor line changes that lead to trouble screams coaching issue. I think the jam jar might be empty. |

I think some people are being overly critical. Buffalo is a desperate team. They have been playing okay coming into last night's game. The Flyers did what they had to do. Some of you guys are complaining about the style points. - spatso
The Panthers have won 2 games in Philadelphia this year. If people want to complain they should complain about that. Florida is by far the worst team in the sport. 7-13-6 with a -34 goal differential. Losing two games to them in your barn is inexcusable. I don't care what the circumstances are. |

I was at the game and my seats are on the goal line.
I watched that puck just sit on the goal line before Schenn swept it away and thought "Brayden Schenn just bought Peter Laviolette another week". |

The Devils have been atrocious since Brodeur went down. They haven't won a game in regulation in their last 10 I believe. |

everyone knows briere is gone. bryz's sv % for his tenure here is ~ .903. he is certainly a candidate for a buyout if an alternative becomes available. he hasn't been good enuf this yr either. homer might be forced to go one more yr with him, but it should not be interpreted as anything more than lacking better alternatives until the nxt off season. - isaiah520
Let's look at a Goalies SV%. Does anyone think that if the Flyers elimnated or at least lessened the constant point blank chances from unchecked opponents. The bad line changes leading to breakaways, and 2 on 1's. The failed clears leading to extended zone time, and either more defensive breakdowns, or a penalty leading to a PP. Would have an effect on the Goalies SV%? Do you think it would go up or down?
So to summarize, I'll wait until the team plays solid team defense and a solid team game before just blindly looking at his SV% in determining he is a buyout candidate. And see how he plays in a situation where he doesn't have to stand on his head and perform miracles for the team to win game in and game out. |

My biggest criticism of Lavy has been that he can't seem to adjust to teams like the Devils, Rangers and Lightning to a lesser extent. Now they've got a home-and-home against NJ. If they lose both, my money's on him being unemployed this Saturday. |

It's a legit concern as well. How can the team play a solid 40 minutes, and then totally let up? I'm sorry when that happens it's on the players. Has nothing to do with the coach. |

I heard that. They were mocking Bryzgalov on the breakaways and in the shootout. |

let's hope not. Bad results in these two upcoming games and the season would likely be over. |

Last nights win was like being at college again.... It's 2:30 and your at the last party you look around and there's a couple trashed girls that are like a 4 or a 5 and you think to yourself, hey it's something - Just5
pfffffffff those 4 & 5 are way more fun.... 9 & 10 are for egos and show |

The "legit concern" you mention is the crux of the criticism.
Sagging the way they did last night in that 3rd period is why they went 0 - 3 last week. They sagged at the wrong times and it ended up in the Flyers' net every time. This team cannot afford to be lax.
I'd hate to see what would have been in the papers had the Sabres come back to tie that game. - johndewar
I hate to be a broken record. But they aren't laxed. They simply don't know how to play with a lead. Because Laviolette's system is not effective if you play cautious in protecting a lead. If you don't gamble and go hard for the puck on the forecheck. That is the issue. There is no adjustment in their systems play installed by the Coach such as the Pens played in the 3rd period of the last game against them. |

Pretty unprofessional I thought. But when you broadcast games for that team you don't have fun often. It's usually the same thrashing game after game. |

If I'm being honest, I think the season pretty much is over or at least, even if they do make the playoffs, they wouldn't last long. I know anything can happen in the post season, but the amount of holes on this team is disconcerting. They'd have to make some trades before I believe that they'd even have a chance at a Cup run.
I'm more worried about developing the young players for the future. |

What kills me is flyers hyped up bob. Athletic, quick, hard worker. Sooo give up on him get slug, stiff, space head... I said it then and I say it now, Philly traded it's core and went young( which was great move IMO ) but we should have stayed with bob, let him develop with a vet bEhind him and when young core developed if bob couldn't hd his own then make move for a goalie. Bryz never and will never be the answer. I get destroyed on this this site for saying go get a young goalie and buy out bryz. Now I laugh as bob is brought up. God this team is a joke. But I'm a sucker. Still watch. Still support team. Sorry foR the rant. - SMS4016
People seemed to forget that buffalo series when bob was blown out of the water....he told them he was overwhelmed....if you cant play and have your head on straight when it means the most then you are just another cechmanek lol |
