i used to go to the marlton one, i must have sold $300 or something in CDs, DVDs and LPs before i moved to Bucks Cnty...iow, they made out like bandits, but sometimes you just have to shed inventory. with the way streaming and digital in general is growing, who knows how long they'll be around though. - isaiah520
I worked at the movie theater next to that for years. Dropped a ton of cash on vinyl there over the years. I work near the one I'm Voorhees now, right by the SkateZone. Bye bye paychecks. |

it's a great past time, but not a lot of people sit still to listen to music these days. i use a logitech to play music files from my computer to a couple of rooms...but i'm kinda techy. there's something special about liner notes you can actually see w/ the naked eye and hands on media in general. alas, those seem to be bygone days. |

True..
Pearl Jam's song, "Spin the Black Circle," covers this topic well.
Ok, maybe not, but there was something about the LP and its paper sleeve and liner notes that the cassette couldn't replicate (mostly because the liner notes would be folded down eight times to fit inside). CD's are closer but still don't compare. Heck, the artwork is the biggest reason I bought Yes' "Tales from Topographic Oceans." |

i like the artwork better than the music on that one, but the band sounded superb. even CDs when they 1st came out were harsh sounding, but those days are over for the most part. tape formats were a waste from the start, but thats all we had for a while. |

Voynov has out played doughty this year. His 1st full year. He's only going to get better. Fact. Doughty has been in league how long? Now project voynov in same amount of time. Time will tell - SMS4016

Whenever I want to hear the snap-hiss of vinyl, I just play "Your Mom Said You Cried in Your Sleep Last Night" from Plant's Manic Nirvana album. - Flyskippy
i saw him live on that tour. i think it just made me even madder that i was 8 when zeppelin disbanded due to bonham's death and never got to see them.
i've seen him 3 times - or maybe 4? - all with different bands from different solo releases. he always does interesting rearrangements to a lot the zeppelin songs he performs.
for some reason many of my zep favorites seem to be plant's as well, including "that's the way" from III, which he still does that live, unlike the jerkoffs from rush who refuse to play anything from caress of steel, which is, shocker, my favorite album of theirs ("the necromancer" in particular).

one of their stranger albums. i agree with you about the artwork of LPs. it's actually my first connection to graphic design- when i was 4 years old - and listening to poopty Kiss albums. years later after i began pursuing design as a career, the lightbulb went off and i figured out why. |

I apparently had more money in high school because after I stopped delivering papers & got an hourly job I went to 3 concerts in 1989-90, my senior year: Robert Plant, Phil Collins, & Eric Clapton. |

So so so true. I was born in 83, so by the time I knew what music was, CDs and cassettes ruled the world. But my LP/EP collection now rivals my CD one. Mostly it's because I love punk, and have I think 7 different colors/pressings of one particular album, but still, records are way more fun that any other form of music. If any of you are into metal, Blind Guardian put out a 4-album box set with the most amazing record artwork I've ever seen, and it's heavy 120g vinyl. |
