Are you talking about Grossmann?
- Feanor

Nope. Meszaros. They added him to be the 5th defenseman at a $4mm cap hit. Unfortunately, the injuries to Pronger pushed him into a top 4 role.

My point is, had they had a Gus in 2010, they could have used him instead of the corpse of Lukas Krajicek and a broken down Jason Smith

That's weak.

So you should continue to have to pay for something that happened a significant amount of time ago. About 5 years ago in case of the Perry elbow to Giroux. And not have "good behavior" count?

Yeah. Sure he isn't.

Whether or not that drunk Irish moron in charge of discipline takes this into account is another issue entirely.

There are rules in place within the CBA. Everything that is done is not random.

Say it ain't so... Pens rooting? Are you nucking futz?

No way I root for those toolbags! Completely bassackwards! Although I must say, the Pens 3 goal comeback to win makes me feel like the Flyers aren't as terrible now!

i was actually looking forward to seeing if playing with a guy like meszy would be a good learning experience

instead let's watch bruno flop around in front of bryz while pucks go sailing by

poor mesz

So, every 18 months you can plow someone with no regard or respect for safety.

That's just tremendous.

Perry is going to be suspended, so it's obviously not okay.

Only a matter of time before Gervais gets benched and Gusty will get another shot.
Actually letting him play in all situations for ADK is likely the right move now.

Gags and Coots can leave bread crumbs so Danny can find his way back to the defensive zone.

Wasn't that Parent with Krajicek? Smith left after his lone season as Captain (2007-08)? Not busting chops...

Yes, you are correct...the third pair was so bad, I intentionally forgot it

I personally don't think Gustafsson was sent down because he played so badly that they felt it was neccessary. I think it's about what's good for the player and his future.

Probably Leight but I heard Read is moved up to play with Braydon and Simmonds.
Briere with Couts and Gagne.

Good move.

Offensively, sure. But who takes the tough/defensive zone match-ups?

Does the label really matter? He's a young defenseman who is still green and coming off surgery & suffered a bone bruise. So he's not at 100%, not int the best of circumstances since the forwards don't do all that well in the D zone and the team is on the cusp of being a mess.

We saw what he is capable of last season when he was steady, but the environment for him in the NHL last season was mor conducive to good play & growth than this year.

- Flyskippy

Are you asking if the label matters to me or are you telling me if the label matters to you. When did we stop being picky around here? If Gus is a promising third pair defenseman, well that's just great but the knocks against him are his size and strength. That doesn't look like it seems to be changing. As for what we saw last season of him. I saw Burdon take his spot for most of it

Yes I'm nutz
If I watch a game I have to pull for someone, and my hate for Boston is bigger then Pitt right now, likely cause Pitt seemed like the underdog last night

I keep hoping Manning progresses to an NHL-ready level... I like Gus and his offensive capabilities too, but Manning adds a little bit more size on the back end. Both of them seem to need more time to develop though..

It's not like the Flyers are a solid club that's just struggling with a bad third pairing, Gus would be one of the first to suffer when the bench gets shortened. Getting him some quality play time (as Marc said, in all situations) to work on his game isn't a bad idea at all.

Briere gets benched and Max T plays with Couts and Gagne.
See how easy that was?
