All the back to backs, the compression of the schedule, which has been worse in Philly than anywhere else.
- Jsaquella

4 Games in the next 14 days. 2 games a week. No back to backs. That's about as easy as it's going to get this year.

Let's see if Bryz and the Flyers pick up their games. If they don't pick it up now they never well.

I'm more interesting to see how Lavy adjusts against the Devils in the home-and-home. I think these two games might define his season and whether or not he'll be behind the bench much longer.

they're going to need some help. a lot of teams around them will be making up those games in hand. they could find themselves trailing in the dust very soon.

The Devils are a hot mess right now, you're catching them at the right time.

If they hadn't brought in Boosh, our back-up would have been Cal Heeter.
- NickTheKid87

if we are to believe leighton just happened to go on IR right before the big road trip, yes.

I believe G's problem were a combo of trying to much and not having the right linemates during the first few weeks of the season. Hartnell is most likely just starting to regain his timing, once he does G will be fine playing with him and Voracek. All in all Giroux is the least of my worries.
- BiggE

He's the least and most of my worries. I have little long term worry that he can get back to that level he was at last year, but if he can't it's a massive worry...

Yeah, literally. If we can take the home-and-home with them this week, I think we'll be in much better position... I hope... :S

I think they would have just waived Leighton if they didn't want him. I mean they did send him to ADK and then called him back up so I do believe he was actually hurt. The subsequent events wouldn't make much sense otherwise.

You should know by now that all current trends are automatically reversed when a team plays the Flyers. Hedberg has been awful which means back-to-back shutouts.

Yeah, surprisingly. He plays well every time they play the Flyers. Or, the Flyers just play like crap, either way, we need a win!

this should continue the arguing that's been going for the last few days about bryz.

it's clear bryz's performance has slipped - but if we're comparing straight up to those on Dallas, their backups have combined for 11 games played. Bryz has started all but 2. perhaps the workload is more significant of a factor than we realize. he needs to raise his game, but the team in front of him needs to stop allowing the amount of high quality chances on top of being simply able to clear the zone quicker. my opinion of the team as a whole is that they're lousy and poorly coached.

so many times we see them fail to execute a great chance at one end, the puck goes the other way and it ends up in the net - like briere with a glorious chance from the slot in the final minute of the 2nd period in the penguins game. doesn't even get the shot on goal. instead of a 5-4 flyers lead with momentum they go in flat. pittsburgh then scores in the first minute of the 3rd after a failed line rush off the faceoff. game over. (with boucher in net, by the way, which was a ridiculous decision - not fair to bryz, and certainly not to boucher).

the team in front of him blows, and he's tired. that doesn't matter though, because when they lose it's his fault, he sucks, and he's not worth his contract. this isn't your POV - just what the masses say.

- hammarby31

Lehtonen missed two-plus weeks with a groin pull, which is why the backups had a run of starts (fortunately, the team was scoring a ton of goals, which covered in several games for the subpar team D and mediocre work by Bachman and Nilstorp). He's bounced back strong from the injury.

i hope they get blown out these next two games

Get a new coach.

Sell some of the vets off.

Have the young guys learn a new tighter system.

Get a decent draft pick for once.

Be ready to go next year.
