I kept seeing that coat and was always confused. What does it even mean, where did it come from?

Same idea. Top player of the game as chosen by the players gets to wear it.

Kelly and Fitzpatrick have almost identical (year to year) passing stats. The difference was Kelly had a great Defense and a HOF running back. Fitz never did.
- RynoBull

Dude, come on. The league is so much different passing wise. Look at Aikman's numbers. There pedestrian compared to what QB's do now a days. Fitz is a backup in the NFL. Can't throw the deep ball to save his life.

thats true. Kelly's 3,500 something passing in 91 led the league. Now thats pedestrian. 5,000 is the new 3,000.

My team, The Giants, kinda sucked last year but hey 4 Super Bowls (2 in the past 6 years) is better than none.

Yep... One or two good games out of 10 makes me feel like this team is on the path to greatness.
- jochfr

You need to win one in a row before two....a rebuild means a few more years of losing with no assurance we will come out much better on the other side....case in point: Edmonton

Not saying this team is fine but scrapping it utterly may not be the best plan either.

Nah, Fitz wanted to come here, Kelly chose another league.

"My agent looked at me after Elway got picked and the problem that arose from it and he said, ‘Hey Jim, is there anywhere that you don’t want to play?’ I said, ‘Oh yeah, I don’t want to play for the Minnesota Vikings,’” said Kelly. “’I don’t want to play for the Green Bay Packers and I don’t want to play for the Buffalo Bills.’”

Buffalo had the 12th pick in round one and NFL Commissioner Pete Rozelle announces that the Bills have taken Notre Dame tight end Tony Hunter. Kelly was elated.

“I remember jumping up out of my seat and I hit my mother who was sitting on the right arm of the recliner and I knocked her right off the chair,” said Kelly. “I felt so bad, I quick picked her up off the floor and I’m apologizing, ‘Sorry mom I’m just glad I’m not going to play for Buffalo.’”

Kelly’s agent quickly reminded his client that the Bills also held the 14th pick in round one. Not long after Rozelle announces the Bills second pick in the first round, a quarterback from the University of Miami, Jim Kelly.

“I couldn’t believe it,” he said. “Within minutes the phone calls came and with me being politically correct I was saying how excited I was to be a Buffalo Bill. And when I hung up I said, ‘We need to call the USFL and see what other options we have.’”

I live in Chicago and have a hard time getting along with Bears fans. Every year before the season it's, "Bears have a good shot this year, if the offense can play the way it should....." then after they start 4-2 it's, "This is our year, as long as the team stays healthy we will take the division" then when they finish 9-7 or 8-8 it's "get rid of everyone, need an offensive line, defense is too old." At least as a Bills fans we can recognize what we have and what kind of season it's going to be.

10 years later everyone wanted to be a Buffalo Bill. 14 years after that, no one wants to be a Bill again.

Bears and Chicago sports fans as a whole are wierd. They have this wierd confidence about their teams. Its not an obnxious Boston confidence. Its more like a party fun "We're going to win just because" confidence. They don't know a ton about the sports and outside of Michael Jordan have few championships and many long stretches of irrelevance among thier teams.

I think it's because everyone that moves here usually becomes sucked into Chicago sports and becomes a fan. Can't tell you how many Cubs fans come from outsiders who have moved here, I'm always like why in the hell would you like the Cubs? Plus try going to a Hawks game and asking fans who was the captain before Toews, 90% of the building has no idea.

Kings and Sabres are in trade talks. A league source says LA will trade with Buffalo. We shall see.

Just to get this conversation back to hockey

Way back when wed do an away game every year. One year in Chicago...

Park for the tailgate decent size group with us. Eveything going ok drinking playing games of course every now and again you got bears fans walking by cussing yelling etc ok no big deal its all good fun.

On the walk to the stadium hail of snowballs lots of cussing just being low lifes.

WOrst part have the misfortune of sitting in the last row of the bottom level so you back is to the concourse. Every 5 mins someone slapping you on the back how does that feel and fill in the blank obsenity of being a bills fan. One older guy was the only one who was cool and talked to us and was nice.

We also had gotten into a mini altercation the night before at a bar.

KC fans are great which was odd, even though they are terrible Id thought they would be louder
CIncy fans are ok but like us you dont have championships so you cant talk too much
Raider fans arent that bag.
