At what point do we as fans of this team admit that this team isn't good enough? We were better last season. We lost a lot in the off season. I didn't have to call the 90's psychic line to see this coming.
I do like what Homer has tried to do by bringing back Gagne but he doesn't change much. To Gagne's credit, I love how creative he still is and the gets back to defend even as quick as the defensemen.
As for the pp. It dies as the game gets older. We need balance. We need a net presence on that second unit. Too many forwards being put out there in two minutes. - SuperSchennBros
anybody with functioning eyes has seen this for some time now. they're terrible. the shame of it is that there a lot of quality players on this team. |

Not really seeing a team out there now. Mostly just a bunch of individuals trying to do things on their own. - Flyskippy

Bruno Gervais has played 400 NHL games, despite being a journeyman. That means he has to have been coached at some point to not do something that outrageously dumb.
The reason I feel that the coaching shares a large part of the blame is because it's not just Gervais, it's everybody. Including guys who have shown smarts and intelligent play more often than not.
When it's an epidemic like this either it's part the way they are coached, or that they have stopped listening to the coach.
I think it's a bit of both. - Jsaquella
Bruno Gervais had no interest from any other teams. No team would want him in a trade, and I wouldnt want him to shovel my driveway.
The guy just sucks ass. Plain and simple. The Flyers are panicking. |

Im grabbing the scythe right now!
Lava is running behind the bench telling every guy to not bother to look around the ice, and just pinch, pinch, pinch. Poor Gervais would be kissing the cup if it wasnt for Peter.
Judas himself would do a better job teaching Gervais to be a better human being.
They are ALL at fault. - flyer_nutter
It's not a read and react situation. He wants the defenseman to pinch. How many times does something have to happen before a realization kicks in that it's by design?

Probably 2%. They seem to think he's not part of the problem.
I'm at the point where I'd be OK with wholesale changes |

If only Laviolette was as smart as the other 8 coaches that clowned the Devils the last 3 weeks. - PLindbergh31
as i said days ago, the flyers would be the perfect tonic for the devils. absolutely nothing surprising about this so far. nothing. |

Ohhh hell I agree, that they need a change, they cant play an aggressive up-tempo style.
They are being exposed faster than a hooker on Higgins and Main in Winnipeg.
I am sure he is telling them to be aggressive, but they are taking it to mean to stop thinking and just skate around blindly. Maybe Pronger can come and pick up their balls off the ice after the game. - flyer_nutter
If Pronger is watching 2 minutes of this he will have set his recovery back 6 months |

Maybe he's telling them to be that super-aggressive, maybe it's them. I can't say for sure. But it has to change, the Devils are practically scheduling odd man rushes months in advance. And it's driving me...well, it's driving me nuts! |

I have heard for so long they are better then what they have shown. No they're not. We had a failed off season and we let a lot go that we shouldn't have.... |

We have to face the reality. The Flyers aren't a very good team. They have some talent but they have too many holes and can't play this style. |
