He was shaking a dildo on the bench, if he didnt pinch on that earlier play either.
We have all seen how hard he can punch the air. - flyer_nutter
Gervais is comically bad. It's ridiculous that he was signed. |

That's my biggest issue. You have Schenn and Grossman, instead of Pronger and Carle. Change the system. Tweak the system. There is nothing but aggressive stupidity.
AGGRESSIVE STUPIDITY - GirouxForTheShow
It has become clear Lava will not. I also dont think a coach like Babcock would either.
They need to change the system now. The identity. Yet, (frank)ing again! Management and Snider have been panicking for years now trying to be just like the team that beat them. Going with youth apparently but that didnt last too long either did it?
They need to fire Lava. The team is not built to be aggressive. They are too (frank)ing stupid, and not talented enough on the back end to play such a system. Not consistent enough in the defensive awareness by the forwards. Fire Lava, but if I am Holmgren I start to feel eyes on my back as well. |

Who do you expect? He is not put into a position to be a good player.
Hmmm maybe if they (gasp), signed someone better to begin with? Or had depth in the AHL other than banshee screaming Guss? |

I think you see what you want to see. I also used the key words "most nights". I'm talking about the season as a whole. I always have been. Disagree all you want. Doesn't make you anymore right. It's amazing Bryz has anything resembling a 500 record.
Give Rinaldo the "C" though. - SuperSchennBros
This is what you said:
I am wrong about a lot of things. Going into this season I felt Voracek wouldn't be at the level that he's playing at now. I felt Briere should play out his contract. I was wrong about both of these.
On the other hand, I never though we had a prayer going into this season. I'm currently crossing my fingers for Seth Jones in the draft. With this said, I do not want to buy out Bryzgalov or fire Laviolette. Players like Rusty, Bruno, Knuble, Boucher and Leighton have my permission to move on.
Bryz is the only guy not giving up and he is our best player most nights... - SuperSchennBros
Sheesh. I was just saying that Rinaldo has shown up all year, too, SuperSchennsitive. |

Just a personal thing but I always believed in a system that played to your strengths.
Not in a system that hid your weakness. That is playing not to lose.
Which is funny, because that is exactly what they need to do. They need to hide the weakness. Lava pisses me off, as do the players, but Holmgren does so much more. - flyer_nutter
So Holmgren's inability to offer $250mm to Weber & Suter has you more pissed off than Laviolette's inability to tweak his system? |

I was complaining about the Flyers, and my g/f just said "who cares? It's not a real season."
I might adopt this view.

It seems your opinion has changed drastically since a day or two ago. Babcock wouldn't need to change his system with this team, only tweak it. His teams play a responsible two way game.

What is Homer to do? He did what he could to get the best UFA and best RFA defenseman. I don't see where he is at fault. - GirouxForTheShow
He was unsuccessful in doing so, because he signed Bryz the year before by listening to his boss, Mr. Snider, who wanted a goalie and... I suddenly don't feel like making a long-winded run-on sentence answer anymore. |

I've seen this comment not only from you, but others.... when exactly did they stop "going with youth"? Are we talking about the Pronger trade or other things? They haven't exactly been trading from Adam Oates, Tony Amonte, etc. since 2007. |

Bill Meltzer @billmeltzer
Put entire Devils starting six D on Flyers and you know what... they'd still be an awful defensive team. So it's NOT just personnel.

Signing someone better requires more Cap space. He was signed to be a part time player. The incompetent GM didn't have that crystal ball you spoke of earlier to know that Meszaros would get hurt in the off season.

How about not giving up JVR for a one dimensional d-man?
I think its time to admit the Flyers got their ass felt up on that deal. Gave up a big asset.
I am not Holmgren, and do not have his contacts, but I find it a little hard to believe the best he could do was Luke Schenn, Foster and Gervais.
Flyers have scored no 3rd period goals in last 6 games.
