That was a trade I didn't like. Giving away Markov for a pick. - Flyskippy

There's no heart to this team. We're still missing the leadership of a Lindros, Primeau, Pronger, Smith, Hatcher, and to a lesser extent, Richards. And it shows. - wolfhounds

Give Lava till Friday, if they don't win dramatically on Friday I think you fire Lava over the weekend, get Murray up, instill some defensive awareness and smart hockey sense. Go from there. - GirouxForTheShow
Weren't we saying this last week before they squeaked by a flaccid Buffalo team? Winning 1 game a week in questionable fashion keeps buying you time? |

We agree here skip.
That identity you speak of, has been changing, lacking and lead to panic along with a lack of structure.
That has come from the top of the organization and trickled down imo.
The Flyers, with a coaching change, are about to change their apparent "identity" yet again. - flyer_nutter
I think they need to re-capture it. The Flyers have a "brand" of hockey that's been their identity but they've lost it. |

Before Bilbo's time, sadly. He would have known Mithrandir/Gandalf, though. - Flyskippy
Ahh, you're a Middle Earth scholar I see...Silmarillion.
And I'm ashamed, spelled Gandalf wrong. |

Frustrated and taking dumb penalties.
Which I'm fine with. If you're ok with poop efforts and losing, get off my team. |

So the 4th rounder for Gagne won't turn into a 3rd. Looking for positives |

Heh, took me three tries to finish the Silmarillion. You get a badge that says "Geek of Dorkdom" when you finish it. You have to send away for it, but worth it! |

A return to focusing on players that bring hard work first and foremost, and do so consistently in every zone on the ice would be priority #1 to me. |

I merely meant that everyone should feel the heat. I don't think Homer's job should be in jeopardy, I just think he needs to turn this team into something that has an identity with success coming within 2 or 3 years. - Flyskippy
fair enough, and a reasonable attitude. i'm sure he's not happy with the team and is doing whatever he thinks will help the team. he's never been shy about doing that. my reply was probably more of a comment on what seems to be the mentality of many on here that Homer is somehow to blame for all this than it was to your specific post. |

I threw in dramatically to differentiate between a good win and that buffalo win. |
