I wish my team was as bad as the Flyers...oh wait...
Really though the problem with the rangers and flyers that would bug me the most it would be having that much talent and still sucking - tomkob11
Could be alot worse, could have Lowe and Tambellini running the organization like the Oilers. Do nothing to improve the team, pick 1st overall every year and let the kids get used to losing every year. How do ya think their fans feel?
Flyers didn't break the bank for Luke Schenn. The salary is really irrelevant. It's what they bring to the ice that matters. Willie Mitchell is far more then a role player for LA. He was a key defenseman in their Cup run. - MJL
Salary is totally relevant in a cap world. If Bryzgalov and Briere were making minimum wage the Flyers would have cap room to add some really expensive players. Schenn making 3.6 mill now means that he's going to want 5 or 6 mill a year when his contract is up.
Willie was had for a 2 year 3.5/yr contract by the Kings. It didn't even take a 2nd round pick which seems to be the only way the Flyers can get a defenseman. If you are saying that Schenn can be as good as Willie Mitchell some day you are saying he can be as good as a guy who couldn't even get a lucrative long term contract as a UFA.

well i took a survey and non-tattoed blondes really prefer slightly fat sports fans with goatees so this should all turn out really well !!! - Don'tForgetTocchet
Maybe I should take notes on this?
As long as you have a link to provide evidence. With a reputable source.

Things stay the same or get worse. The D gets exposed, as do the forwards who are not good in their own zone. Bryzgalov's fatigue gets worse.
Just for poops and giggles what then? - flyer_nutter
Things can't get worse. Correcting the bad habits and getting this team playing the right way will not happen overnight. It will be a process, and will happen in baby steps most likely.
I've tried 3 times but usually I just end up skipping to a few of the tales in there and give up on the rest. After seeing the Hobbit movie I had to read that book again to get the bad taste of the move out. Saw the 3d version...considering going to see the 2d version to see if I feel differently. Anyway read the Hobbit to my 3 year old. Sugarcoated some of the scary scenes and battles. He loved it. Always wants me to tell Hobbit stories at bed time. He likes "Smauggie-Woggie" and "the Necky" (Necromancer).
Naturally I've moved on to Fellowship (not with little guy though...a little too much character development and such for him). I've probably read The Hobbit 6 or 7 times and the LOTR trilogy at least 5. Guess I am a Geek.
I am thinking of checking out Unfinished tales one of these days. ... and someday maybe I'll conquer the road that goes ever on in the Silmarillion.

I never read Unfinished Tales, though I have a small paperback copy around here somewhere. I did read The Children of Húrin in 2007. That was a good, though dark (sad), read.
Great that you're reading to your son. I did that with The Hobbit and the Chronicles of Narnia, Dr. Seuss, etc. Always a good time spent with my son.
Understandable. I often watch just for the player and coach interviews and just imagine white noise over the crew, especially Barkann. - Flyskippy
I imagine it's just an awful feeling for them, shortened season doesn't help things for sure. Some guys are clearly trying, others are but just look lost out there. Im with your previous post, gauge whose here for the long haul, give the vets the opportunity to get out. I just fear the rebuild or retool is going to take the shape of every other scenario where the Flyers hire within and recycle players from the past. What makes them stand apart from other teams in this city in how they keep great relationships with former guys has also been a curse.

The salary of what Mitchell and Greene made is not an indication of what they bring to the ice. Which is how you tired to use it. And how you compared the salaries of those players and Luke Schenn.
It's quite clear what Mitchell meant to the Kings playoff run last year. And not having him this year has hurt them.
