Its this or argue about moves that won't happen for months at the earliest, if at all. |

Be warned, this is a positive post.
This team is has incredibly young parts. Growing pains are to be expected. However that is only a rung on a sizable ladder. Some tweaks need to be made, but a full roster overhaul is absurdity. They just went through a complete retooling less than two seasons ago. Some pieces could and should be moved - but a rebuild in the true meaning of a rebuild is unnecessary.
I don't think this team is THAT far off from being a contender. Honestly, their roster is good enough to be winning games; which they obviously aren't. I love Lavy, and he's done great things for the organization - but I think the writing is on the wall here. - BoomGoesTheCoburn
pulling positives out of flyers situation isn't hard...finding positives in their recent play is. your perspective isn't fantasy...if only the org showed the patience it preached when they canned hitch. |

Of course, their recent play has been atrocious. But I feel, as many others do, that they are playing the wrong way. A lot of the nights the effort is there, but they don't have the roster to be skating an "all systems GO" style. That needs to be the first change. |

agree...better to win than to lose "his way". if Tippet was coach their record would be reversed, i bet. wouldn't address homers failings, but would give them more time to fill in pieces. |

Gotta be a solid puck moving two way Dman the Flyers can use their top 7 pick as a basis for a deal. Any ideas? I'd also offer Perry 6/$45, maybe even more. |

Unless someone is moved I dont really see the need for Perry at all. Especially with the money he will command as the sole big FA this year.
Jones, Ristolainin, Pulock, Nurse & Morrissey are the top D guys in the draft. All of whom would probably go a long way to helping our team in the near future. Sure would be nice to somehow gain a second 1st rounder this year. |

A sign of how far this team has fallen is when Mike Milbury can accurately say that "the Flyers are recklessly aggressive."

Columbus, as they enter the East, could be a much better team.
Notes
The Los Angeles Kings' first-round pick will go to the Columbus Blue Jackets as a result of a trade on February 23, 2012 that sent Jeff Carter to Los Angeles in exchange for Jack Johnson and this pick[7] (being conditional at the time of the trade).[8] One condition was converted on April 5, 2012, when Los Angeles qualified for the 2012 Stanley Cup playoffs, giving Columbus the right to choose between Los Angeles' first-round picks in either 2012 or 2013.[9] The other condition was converted on June 22, 2012, when Columbus chose not to take Los Angeles' first round pick in 2012, giving them this pick.[10]
The New York Rangers' first-round pick will go to the Columbus Blue Jackets as the result of a trade on July 23, 2012 that sent Rick Nash, Steven Delisle and a conditional third-round pick in 2013 to New York in exchange for Artem Anisimov, Brandon Dubinsky, Tim Erixon and this pick.[11]
The New Jersey Devils have to forfeit one first-round pick in either 2013 or 2014 (they elected to keep their first-round picks in 2011 and 2012)[12] at their own choice as a result of penalty sanction due to cap circumvention when signing Ilya Kovalchuk. The penalty also included a fine of $3 million and the forfeit of the Devils third-round pick in 2011.[13]

Briere will be bought out. A forward will probably be needed with that high pick to get the puck moving two way Dman who won't come cheap. Perry will easily fill that void offensively. However, getting that top Dman is critical. |

what the hell, why not ... I'd rather us lose close games playing defensive hockey than getting embarrassed the way we are right now.
this could have easily have been 10 - 2 tonight. |

You're welcome. Might be my favorite meme from the movie. Not the best line, but one I've probably most repeated. |
