No. One game isn't a valid comparison. However the Rangers were one of the favorites to win the Cup, yet they are currently the 8th seed and have a very mediocre record of 13-10-2. What is the cause of them drastically underachieving thus far? - PLindbergh31
I haven't watched enough Rangers games to know what all of their issues are. |

I haven't see a defenseman do that when they aren't pressured. - MJL
I have.
I don't mean when there's a guy right on their back trying to get the puck, either ... I mean when the attacking forward is a good couple of strides away our D will just pin the puck to the boards.
I see it every game, several times. |

I have to say, I thought the Rangers and Devils were going to take steps back. of course that said, I also thought the Pens, while being one of the better teams, would miss Staal and I didn't like their defense. |

Pat Faloon is the answer every other game. - jmatchett
I had forgotten about this.

I thought the Staal trade was a terrible one that would hurt the Pens... Low and behold Sutter has played extremely well. 2 snipes last night.
Never doubt Shero. |

Oh. I saw you say the other day that other coaches have done more with far less than what Laviolette has. You cited the Devils as one of the examples. Have you watched enough of their games to make this determination? |

It's their systematic truth with facts in the system that helps their coaches system ring true with the facts. And the fact is that it's true than their coach's system is a fact. Why don't you get this? |

He made the best out of a bad situation.
Sutter is a good hockey player.
But which player would you rather have? |

I did not cite the Devils as one of the examples. I cited Ottawa as an example. And I know that they have done more with less, by knowing what their roster is, the injuries they've had. And what their record is.
Do you have a point you want to make? |

I would rather have Staal. But Sutter is a better player than I thought he was. |

We have a new Pope!
Just a coincidence that we're playing the DEVILS in a big home and home? I think not!
Flyers will now SWEEP.

Yes, but where did the bird go? He was there for more than an hour then he just flies away right before the white smoke? Curious... |

So, based on my assumption that they need at least 54 points to make the playoffs, mathematically they need just about 3 points from these two games to get on pace to make it. Realistically, though, getting only 3 points would be bad given NJ is a division/conference opponent with games in hand.
4 points or bust!!! |

Pope or not, he's still a muggle. We need a Bellatrix Lestrange or, if not, at least one of the Carrows. |
