I think he's saying that, for a mid-round pick, Bishop would be a worthy piece to have on hand either way. He looks good, from what little I've seen. - BulliesPhan87
Is a mid round pick realistic?
Bob got a 2nd and 3rd rd iirc.

I think Bryz gets another season to see how he will play when he gets 70-80% of the ice time and not 95%, and how he does with a new coach.
They need a reliable back up and if they can get a guy with higher potential if they decide to cut ties with Bryz all the better.
This is what you are saying, yes? - Marc D
I was going to write that Bryzgalov is not the problem, but I realized it would be a waste of time.
Much easier for you guys to just tar and feather the goalie.
I think I've seen this happen once or twice before in the City of Brotherly Love... |

To be honest, I'm not sure. A team in more immediate need of a goaltender would outbid us, I imagine. I wouldn't mind getting a good, young goalie at a favorable price, though. It'd be helpful to have one on hand when next season is over and they have to make a final decision on Bryz. |

I get it, it's funny because nobody's (edit: currently) blaming Bryz (edit: on this thread).

You think it's bad in here, you haven't seen anything... visit the Flyers Facebook page during games, or any updates. People are friggin idiots. Seems like a lot of them only know how to read a box score, and not actually watch a game. Someone could break their stick in half, stab Bryz in the throat with it, while he's down on the ice and someone shoots the puck in, people would be complaining he sucks and should have stopped it. There's only a couple people in here claiming it's him... but throughout the world, ignorant people are speaking.. lol
I agree completely with Bill in saying he's given them a chance most of the season to win. Lately, he has been getting softer, sure. But overall, the stats don't tell the whole story... But hey, I guess people need to pick a roster player out to hang, might as well be Bryz. |

If it makes you feel any better, the general consensus in Toronto is the Flyers' main problem is Luke Schenn.
Just kidding. |

Oh I agree completely.
Bryz was tremendous the first few weeks, easily their best player.
But lately he has fallen off, more the team play then the goalie, but he has been just average of late and gets paid like a top 5 goalie. This is Homer's and Snider's fault, not Bryzgalov's.
He is over paid for what he brings, and similar goalie play could possibly be had for less $.
In 2014 they have Giroux, B Schenn, Couts, Read, and Meszy needing new deals and likely raises. If Bryz continues to be average or even slightly above average, I think a buyout is not off the table. |

This might sound crazy, but...the feeling in Vancouver has shifted, and it looks like Luongo is the new Cory Schneider, who was the heir apparent to Bobby Lu. So it turns out that Luongo's heir was Luongo. Do you think the Flyers could look into trading something (Briere+Coburn?) for Schneider? I'm not blaming Bryz, but since the team isn't looking like it's going to be a Cup contender any time soon, it might make more sense to buy him out, if only to get a good young goalie that the team can grow with?
And yes, that would have been Bob, but..... |

You think the Flyers would be willing to pay him almost $18 million to make him go away?
That would probably make him the happiest guy on earth.
Hell, when you put it that way, I'd be playing for the buyout next year if I was him.
It's going to be an interesting summer next year for buyouts. I'm guessing a lot of teams will use up one strike this year, and save the other one for next.
And in case you were wondering about the Leafs, Komisarek will be gone. Second one is currently awaiting Liles (but not a foregone conclusion) or maybe even Grabovski (in summer of 2014, and only if they can get a centre to replace him). |

If they trade Coburn I think it makes more sense to get back an offensive defenseman.
I wouldn't mind Schneider.
I guess Van might want to dump Ballard off in a trade, but not sure a deal with Philly is the best fit. |
